We stayed at Highland Inn four days. I was nervous because reviews were mixed. Our ocean view room was nice we did not find it outdated. Housekeeping took good care of us we always had fresh towels and clean room to return to. The breakfasts were wonderful and wait staff exceptional. We had breakfast everyday and husband said breakfast highlight of trip. We had dinner once. We enjoyed it and sunset view was amazing. We found the location very good, close to attractions in area but quiet and peaceful. The property is large. Its alot of walking and stairs. We are in our 60s and did fine but I can see that difficult for some people. Parking was far from our room, we did use valet a few times. But did fine walking it too. Grocery store is nearby and a nice laundry room avaiable at hotel. Gym facility was well equiped. We enjoyed our stay and would go back if in the area again.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, but overall the hotel was understaffed and it showed. The other item of note was the poor bathroom layout. While I understand constraints in older properties, the bathroom has a small single vanity with no lay space for items while having ample wasted space on the opposite wall.

It’s fine. What you’d expect from a basic hotel. Certainly not the caliber of a traditional Hyatt. The high point was the service at the front des, especially “Austin” was excellent and the service in the restaurant.

The view to the ocean, from the ocean view room, is amazing. I would also recommend having breakfast at the restaurant for the food (suggest the eggs Benedict and the French Toast), and again the view.

Friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed the Pacific edge restaurant. The service was on point. The valet was so helpful with getting luggage to our rooms…it is the highlands with lots to climb. Shout out to Carlos for stepping up and getting us sorted out. The room was super clean and up to date thanks to the cleaning staff. We also enjoyed the bar at sunset service was impressive.

This hotel was very nice. The view from the hotel was amazing. We were in room 513 which did not have a view - it only looks at the rooms in front of it. The room was clean. The beds were super comfy. The sheets were quality. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly. Our only complaint was the noise - the room above us was LOUD. Maybe the floors are super thin because we were awakened every day way before daylight with floor noise over our heads that was well above average noise level. We would definitely stay here again but maybe look at the rooms to determine a room that has a nice view.
