The hotel is very clean and charming. The staff were exceptionally nice. The breakfast buffet was particularly impressive, offering a wide variety of options.
The pool area was also clean, but needs a little love.
The hotel is conveniently located just a few minutes walk from the Castelo de Vide. The building is dated but everything is very clean and tidy. The room we stayed in was very basic. Few electrical outlets, no cupboards or drawers for our clothes and poor lighting, but the heating worked and the shower was wonderful. The breakfast served was outstanding. This hotel is good value for the money.
There was no bar. There was no restaurant. Open for breakfast only. Pool closed. Wifi in hallway only. Poor signal. No toast/toaster broken I was told. Things that were to be hot for breakfast were cold/lukewarm. Rubber scrambled eggs, slimey mushrooms. Bed very comfortable and nice towels. Sound proofing poor. Could hear someone using the toilet before flushing. Some staff observing breakfast but uncommunicative. Bathroom light took 30 seconds to light up. Up grading required.

Beautiful location in a beautiful town. Sadly we were received badly. We booked a double room and were promptly allocated a twin in a room without a terrace resembling a cell. The indignant and visibly irritated gentleman at reception initially stated he could not help, and was dismissive. His explanation was that other guests had booked more in advance so they take priority, which is insensible given our booking was made perfectly legitimately with payment in advance. Eventually he grudgingly offered a double room, but with an attitude of superiority versus us as inferiors. The room was ok, but started to smell very bad within hours. The pool was lovely, however consistent with the overall condition of the hotel and its receptionists attitude; in need of a refresh, care and attention. We would not go back.

The hotel is perfectly located just literally a few steps from the town. The breakfast was good and plentiful, and the restaurant area was very pretty but why have a lovely restaurant area with a very pretty bar if the bar is never open? In fact there is no way of buying a drink inside the hotel at all so if you're at the pool all day you'd better bring your own! The rooms are very cute with the painted furniture and beautiful tile flooring and are very clean, and the style of the hotel in general is lovely, traditional with nice furniture and pretty touches everywhere, but the hotel is in desperate need of renovation and soundproofing as I don't think it's been touched since the mid 80s! Saying this though the price I paid was pretty cheap so it was good value for money, just a shame seeing such a pretty hotel not quite reaching it's potential.

Ok but needs serious renovation
Worked out for me who were Travelling alone for two nights. Great location, easy to find, next to a pretty city park and a couple of blocks from the historical core. Easy street parking by the hotel’s front door. Comfortable room and bathroom. The whole facility needs serious modernization as all looks (and is) old and worn out. Very lousy breakfast. The pool is tiny and I never saw anyone using it.
Stayed here for one night on a long day trip and it was very cute and typically portuguese. I would stay here again especially for what you get for the price it is a steal. A very cute town with many cute towns around it, really good place to rest on a road trip. I would stay again
For the 2 weeks I was there the toilet had a horrible smell coming from the pipes. My bed sheets were not changed, sometimes the trash was not taken out and was not given enough toilet paper. The breakfast is the same everyday. When I move the balvony furniture is it placed back the dame way? The cleaning staff has a bad attitude. Your toom will here no fridge or microwave not even welcome water. It is Close to all but not very good. I dont recommend you stay there. Pick another hotel instead.
During our stay, we had a couple of personal business items I needed to address and the concierge at the desk, Roy (American translation), was very helpful. Our entire stay was made better by his kind and polite assistance.
Great hotel in a lovely town. The staff are friendly. The room was large and comfortable. The decor was dated but everything works which is much better than decor. The breakfast was good, someone filling up all the time. Would recommend and stay again.
Dollar by dollar an excellent option and value. The hotel’s staff simply great and super friendly (congratulations to all of them)

Sturdy out dated but very convenient Hotel.
This hotel has seen better days but it ticked all our boxes. It is well air conditioned. The shower works well. There is a small but adequate pool which we used a lot. The breakfast was quite good and when you consider the price, it was surprisingly good. The bed wasn’t the best bed I’ve slept in but by no means the worst. It was ok. There was a choice of pillows. It is near the centre and everything is very walkable.
It doesn’t have much charm but you not have to go outside or on the expansive terrace to enjoy this amazing village.
This hotel is situated on the edge of the beautiful little town of Castelo de Vide. Room are large with their own balcony. The bathrooms have not been done recently and some people might consider them a bit out of date. They do have a good size bath and a bidet. Breakfast is basic but considering what we paid, it is generous that it was included.
We arrived late after a long drive.we booked a double but we were given a twin bed room.had to come to reception and change.we booked for 3 weeks but on the second day we realised no resturant i the hotel ,swimming pool was closed.we booked the hotel be ause on Hotels.com website it was advertised they have a resturant and bar and a swimming pool.we were dissappint when none of the services existed.it took us couple of days to find other hotel and we left after 4 days.contacyed hotel.com and explained about false advertising and asked for refund.still after 20 days and numerous phone calls no response fro. HOTEL.COM.very frustrated and unhappy with hotel.com customer service.nothing has been done.they keep say they take complaint very seroiusly but i am still waiting.
Very nice stay within walking distance to the main square, where the locals had their carnaval parade. We were also able to easily get to Marvão by car, besides of course the town's own beautiful medieval village. Breakfast was good too.
The hotel was great value for money. Clean, easy parking, good access to the town, hearty breakfast and pleasant service.
The decor was a 'faded charm', but we could not expected better for the price we paid.
Beautiful location, rooms a little outdated but everything worked. Rare to find a facility that is properly maintained. Lots to do in this picturesque village. Number 2 of 14 different stays this trip.
