You’ll be around 1 mile from the village of Crossmichael where you’ll find a handy shop and a friendly local pub serving up delicious food. For a little more bustle, Castle Douglas – Scotland’s famed ‘food town’ – is 4.5 miles away, packed with independent shops, local produce and quality gifts. Water lovers will be well catered for here, with the wonderful Loch Ken visible from the farm and accessible in Parton, 3 miles away. Whether you’re into fishing, wild swimming or paddleboarding, there’s plenty on offer, with the Galloway Activity Centre (6.5 miles) promising an action-packed day by (or in) the loch.


On arrival, you’ll step straight into an inviting open-plan space combining lounge, kitchen and dining. A neutral colour scheme with contemporary furnishings and artwork creates an interior that’s stylish and modern. On chilly evenings, light up the bioethanol burner to keep you warm. After a homecooked dinner, perhaps created using local ingredients purchased at Castle Douglas Producers’ Market, snuggle up in front of the Smart TV. A sleek shower room with WC is also on this level. When it’s time to turn in for the night, a peaceful double bedroom awaits upstairs.


Outside, the small private wooden deck, furnished with two chairs and a table, is perfect for soaking up the views. You can grill up a tasty dinner on the BBQ, unwind in the lazy-spa or relax with a drink in hand. There’s also convenient parking for one car right next to the cottage.
