The hotel itself is very nice. The lobby and check in staff were great and the Starbucks coffee/sundries shop was good. They had a bar/restaurant open until 10 or 11pm and a big restaurant open for breakfast. We were in room 325, which was updated and very clean, but overlooked the trash cans. FYI, you won’t be able to see the lake from your room unless you are above the 7th floor. We were surprised that the pool closed at 7pm when the stated time on their website is 9pm. There was a heavy police presence in the parking lot which indicated problems with crime. The hotel was nice, but the surrounding area looked like it had its heyday in the 90’s and is now neglected on the Hilton side of the lake, where there were a few unhoused people laying about. Walking over to the other side of the lake where Boardwalk Billy’s is is much better. We highly recommend the BBQ, green beans & Mac & cheese at Boardwalk Billy’s and the ice cream at Ninety’s. Overall we had a good stay and plan to stay again on our next trip to UNC Charlotte, which is VERY close by.

I absolutely LOVED my stay. The hotel was in the perfect location right on the lake . In the back of the hotel is a lovely boardwalk filled with different restaurants, attractions and things to do, beautiful view. This was a beautiful resort ! My hotel room was renovated, remodeled and clean !! Everything was perfect . This was a Five Star stay ! I’m from Pittsburgh PA and everytime I visit Charlotte this will be where I stay ! The only thing I think they should change is the pool hours. The pool closes at 7pm I believe that’s too early for the summer weather.

Love the location. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The whole place was clean. The bathroom in our room was so small. It was difficult to maneuver with two kids. But i loved the shower and water pressure!

Positives: The beds were very comfortable. Security was very good. Buffet breakfast was good. The food at the bar was good, too. Negatives Too far from the city. We were told a 10 minute ride seemed much further. Also the photos of the hotel and surroundings were deceiving. The Boardwalk and mall area was very empty, most stores were closed and not enough choices of restaurants in walking distance as we were told. Plumbing issues, so we had to get a new room. Stains on curtains and towels.
