Cancelled without communication. Beware!
After reserving this property a month in advance, we receive the email from VRBO 2 days prior to check in with the address. I reached out to the property owner requesting information how to unlock the apartment and was informed the owner cancelled our reservation. Owner claims she cancelled the reservation the month prior and did not do anything further when she didn't hear anything. We did not receive any cancelation information nor refund (which was paid in full.) Property owner contacted VRBO and told them it was supposed to be cancelled. We contacted VRBO and after sharing the situaiton about the owner claiming to have cancelled the month prior and we informed if we waited until an hour before check-in time VRBO would help us find a place to stay. They suggested we travel from states away for Thanksgiving without a place to stay! Thankfully we found a hotel that was wonderful (with a much better price for 2 rooms!) VRBO claimed they would "escalate" our cancellation and refund. That was 6 days ago! No communication nor refund still! We don't know who is responsible for the breakdown, but we were left to scrambl to find a place to stay for a holiday weekend without an ounce of care from either company nor property owner and still have not received a refund!
