the young lady who checked us in was really good explained everything and we were in our room within minutes ,pool and gym are great hot tub not very hot and saunas not working ,breakfast was ok nothing special offered nothing other than buffet breakfast ,bed was to soft for me

Disappointed overnight stay!

Really lovely staff, dealing with a worn out hotel. Great size room, very very dated and in need of some TLC. The bed was hard and sank in the middle. Hearing sounded like your room was next to a bus station. The TV did not work!!!! It was ok until the evening and then lost signal. We took my grandson (10 months) so was in the room from 8pm. Couldn’t watch a thing! Sud standard tea and coffee, no biscuits, corridor ceiling tiles going black with mould. Pool, gym and spa excellent quality, the pool could have been 2oc warmer to counter balance the cold from the conservatory windows. Changing rooms freezing!!!!! In all it would Make an amazing stay if there was more thought to customer comfort, and a refresh. It is a shame as the staff were great and helpful, but there is only so much that you can do.

The rooms are in desperate need of refurbishment and from the room you can hear every single noise like someone snoring all night , loud TV, disrespectful customers banging doors and yelling in the night. Shame as the pool is really nice, but apart from that I didn’t enjoy my stay.

Lovely venue, full of character. The spa facilities are amazing, and probably worth a visit just for that! Friendly, helpful staff add to the great overall experience of staying at this hotel.

Great staff but…….

Friendly, efficient staff, but the owner is milking a dead cow with this hotel. It was ready for a good refurb about 30 Years ago. Cold , dated rooms, lots of lights not working around hotel and health club threadbare and tatty.

The property was very dated and in need of some serious decoration and renovation. The hotel was deadly quiet and had little life. The room itself was in need of refurbing. The bed was old and uncomfortable, the shower didn’t work properly, no ironing facilities in the room. I had to ask for a kettle which should how long the room had been unused. Great location for where I needed to bed but the place needs a serious facelift to attract returning customers.

Needed more staff!

Room was very nice. Originally hadn’t booked for breakfast but decided for £10 each we would add it to the stay. Unfortunately the hotel was very understaffed and breakfast was quite chaotic. The breakfast was ok but we had to wait for clean plates, glasses, food to be replenished. A bit disappointing. Staff were lovely and did well under such circumstances

Disappointing

Disappointing. Room was ok but quite cramped. Went to reception to get towels for the pool and was told they'd run out but they would bring wine down to us. No towels turned up Pool was icy cold. Jacuzzi was dirty and the steam room was out of order. Ladies changing rooms were so cold I couldn't get changed in there. We had to dress over our wet costumes and get sorted in our room. Glad we were only there for the one night

Bedding was clean, bathroom was clean but dated. Rest of room looked to be hoovered/wiped but years of stains and dirt made it feel grubby. The bed was broken and unusable until we saw that a perfectly sized log had fallen over; once we propped the log back up the bed was fine for our 1 night stay. This hotel was fine for a cheap place to sleep for the night. If we were staying for more than 1 night or planned to spend more time at the hotel we would look for alternative accommodation.
