The room was on the 4th floor facing the busy flyover and our room was small, noisy and hot. We had to open window because of the heat but could not sleep because of the noise. Bar below on canal too noisy til 2am. Tinned fruit for breakfast and sausages terrible. Coffee bad at breakfast. Rooms facing back car park are larger and quieter. I asked for a quiet room.

The hotel itself facilities were good, clean and rather conveniently located. However, the staff were not as helpful as they could be. We were stranded in Liverpool due to a city-wide incident, where the trains were severely delayed and Ubers were not responsive (presumably due to the large surge in demand). When I called the hotel for assistance, whether to order a cab or to just provide suggestions for a local cab / transport company to get us back to the hotel, all that was told to me was that they couldn't help, they have no idea what are the local cab companies, and ask me to take the train back, after I repeatedly told them that the trains were not working. This left a very bitter note during the stay, which is quite a pity, cos otherwise, the rest of the staff and rest was good.

Nice hotel. Signs to get to it would be a bonus. 10 minute walk from the train station. Close to town. Breakfast limited for vegetarian/vegans. Room was dusty but spacious. As I only stayed for 1 night, I found it adequate for my needs. I would stay again.

Very good location, A lovely warm welcome and cosy, clean room. The breakfast buffet was really tasty and good choice with a lovely view of the canal and staff again being welcoming. The pool, jacuzzi and sauna were the perfect way to round off the stay. Only small downside if had to name. The WiFi didn’t seem to be all that strong for more taxing things and my tv signal kept breaking up. Not normally an issue as don’t tend to use when away, but having been at the Liverpool victory parade, I was keen to catch updates as to what happened with the incident. I will definitely choose The Mill on any future trip to Chester. Thank you

Good location, good breakfast, lovely staff. Room set up could have been more user friendly (eg. Nowhere to put any toiletries in the bathroom). Internet was very slow

Weekend Stay

Hotel does t have its own car park, but easy access via car park over the road.Easy check in, but instantly you feel the heat when you enter your bedroom. Thankfully we could slide the patio door open to cool the room down. Hotel needs AC these days and the lift was clunky. Buffet style breakfast with an average selection of food. Spa facilities were ok, except my partner paid a pedicure that had the polish come off within 3 hours of putting it on! TV in bedroom was in a bizarre position on a wall, this was to the left of the bedroom which meant you had to turn in bed!! very bizarre.Overall, i would suggest a major overall as with a little tlc, this hotel could be a 4star.

Odd place

The room was very outdated. It was super hot and there wasn’t individual access to turn the air con on. Reception staff were friendly until I asked for a VAT receipt and then refused and got cold because I booked through hotels.com. Weird place. I go to Chester often but I won’t stay here again.

The property was nice ,were only staying 2 night s ,the toilet was broken, we reported soon as we arrived, at 6pm ,we reported it again at 8pm on the friday ,staying on the 4th floor was terrible to keep going to the bar up and down in the lift ,Saturday morning reported it again still nothing ,7pm Saturday night we moved in to the room next door ,really bad customer service and our room wasn't fit for purpose ,this was our special weekend, anniversary !!
