Loved the size of the rooms and the indoor pool for my two little ones. Only downside was some construction so not all of the hotel amenities were open. An excellent hotel when fully operating, still a great hotel

The room was great, spacious and clean. The hotel was under construction and it was very difficult to locate the entrance and front desk. Had I known the pool and hot tub were closed, I would have booked elsewhere. The hotel employees were kind and attentive, no issues there. Parking was impossible, but it’s downtown Chicago. Overall, clean room and felt safe.

Highly recommend.

I have stayed at this hotel several times. Was very pleased to see they have remodeled the rooms. Had an issue with a noisy neighbor the first night of our stay and the manager, Debbie, was wonderful and accommodating. She moved us to a new room and upgraded the room free of charge. Customer service was outstanding and rooms are now brand new. Bed was comfortable as well. Great location. One block off Michigan Avenue.

Disappointing stay

We booked this hotel as a night in the city for my moms birthday, we chose the hotel bc of the location and the fact that it had a hot tub which was prominently displayed in the photos Unfortunately the hot tub & pool were under construction and there weren’t any updates about that on the website so we were disappointed

The main reason that we booked this hotel was because of their pool and hot tub area. When we arrived we were informed that the area was under construction and closed. There were several families that arrived at the same time as we did with children specifically for the pool, and they were all disappointed.

Evidently the fitness center and pool were closed for renovations on the 4th floor. Expedia did not communicate this to guests, which was disappointing. We booked the hotel for these amenities and ended up spending hundreds of dollars extra on entertainment and transportation to keep our family occupied during our planned down time. It was quite frustrating. Other than that, the staff here was helpful and friendly. The rooms and property was clean (except the 3rd floor). Dust was evident on the furniture and floor due to construction and this is where they housed the temporary fitness center (5 pieces of cardio and one set of weights). We would stay here again if the pool and fitness center were working. The area was safe and quiet. The room was large enough for our family of four to have space.

My recent stay at the Hyatt Centric was quite enjoyable. I had a spacious deluxe corner room filled with natural light. However, when we opened the blinds on the right side, we discovered that we could see directly into the hospital rooms next door, so we decided to keep those closed. Throughout my stay, we did hear the occasional blaring ambulance passing by, both day and night. Something to note is that if you arrive a couple of hours early, they can store your luggage for you until your room is ready, giving you time to explore the city! Although the pool, hot tub, and standard gym were closed for construction until March, they provided a partial gym within the building and free access to another hotel's gym. Overall, I would definitely consider staying at the Hyatt Centric again in the future; the staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, which I truly appreciated!
