You get what you pay for! We did a quick weekend trip to Chicago, and we knew we weren’t going to be in the room much so didn’t really care where we stayed. This hotel had low rates and reasonable valet parking in a prime location by the river so we went with this choice. Upon arrival our room was extremely small and lacked a clean feeling. We had an old and out dated room with rusted fixtures and stained chairs. Moved past it, because we knew we weren’t doing anything but sleeping there. Throughout our stay the biggest complaint were the elevators which broke leading us to climb 21 flights of steps. Granted, the hotel staff was extremely accommodating picking guest up on floors where they could. The second would be the temperature in our room which seemed to be broken. The upside of this hotel was the staff! I think to make up for the outdated facility they worked extra hard, and had decent amenities to make up for it. They had a quick check in/check out process, free water bottle station, guest request closet with toothpaste, shaving cream, etc.. Ronnie was fantastic during check in and Leo was also great doing guest pick up when the elevators were down! The staff was definitely the saving grace of a below average stay.
