We were only here for about 12 hours, but what we saw we liked a lot. Starting off the check-in was smooth and easy with Shawna. The surrounding areas had nice mulch and plants. The hotel itself is a very nice brick two-story building. Parking was spacious. The room was your average to bed with a tiny desk and a closet to hang clothes along with a dresser. The bathroom is kind of small, but you’re not using the bathroom that much anyway. It’s located directly across the American Legion so be sure to bring your membership card. Speaking of locality, restaurants and bars are all walkable. It is strategically located on the Potomac river with plenty of beach. Highly recommend and I’m definitely staying here again. Also, there is a very spacious pool with plenty of room to hang out. The pool itself looked very clean as well. While we were there, we saw maintenance people cleaning the pool watering plants and just looked like they cared.

Disappointing

This is a budget beachside hotel. The location is good for Colonial Beach, but the overall quality and cleanliness was disappointing. The room was not totally clean and there were damaged or broken things everywhere. For example, the smoke alarm was simply hanging above the door by its electric connecting cords. It makes you question everything. I will never visit this hotel or the beach again. I also learned that I paid $100 more by booking through this platform. Booking directly was much cheaper. The price on this platform indicating a nicer hotel than in actuality.

This place is right on the water and is in the perfect location for the price. I had a great time at the River Edge Inn. Also the staff is spectacular. They were so welcoming and so helpful. 10/10 experience! I will be back.

Very nice hotel on the beach with a pool that we had to ourselves the whole week. The only thing i didnt like were the picnic tables outside our room because other people would sit there at 6am in the morning and late at night smoking which we smelled in our room, talking, laughing and coughing so loud that they woke us up every morning. We are on vacation and prefer not to get woken up that early. Very annoying. And the people at the front desk barely speak english which is also annoying. Loved watching the fireworks from the hotel and there was also a carnival right behind us that was nice. We will be back!

This as a ‘value’ stay. We were not expecting Ritz-Carlton, and we didn’t get it for <$150/night. While acceptably clean, it had the residual odor of cleaning products. It would take several towels to really dry off; we got two. No coffee maker but short walk to lobby at 7am for decent coffee and, ah, breakfast? It was okay, and okay enough that we’ll come back for a one-two day stay.

Ownersvhave plans to start renovating for room upgrades in October 2025 & be done by December 2025. New bathroom & special room amenities to include iron, ironing board & in-room coffee maker. Staff is super friendly & accommodating to requests. Located right on boardwalk. Just steps to the beach and restaurant w/tiki bar & stage for live performances.

This hotel is near a golf cart community area beach. The fair sets up literally next door. Beach is right there (2 steps down and cross a side walk).
