Room has no phone, limited TV stations and no A/C. Opened windows for some ventilation, but property is next to the metro station so was very loud all night. The shower stall had mold growth.

The Astoria is a historic hotel dating to 1935, and is a listed historic building. As such it is not a modern hotel with modern luxury and design features. If you can look beyond this then you'll enjoy the Astoria. If not look elsewhere. The location is perfect, right next to the central station - it was built for the railway for conductors to stay in. It has some art deco features as a result. It's location does mean there is some external noise at night; the windows are fine and ear plugs are provided. Our room - standard double - was fine. Small due to age, and the listed features do show their age. The bathroom was fine but again features are of their time. The included buffer breakfast is fine - sausage, eggs, beans, cold meat & cheese, pancakes, pastries etc. - and served in the original dining room. In summary.....it's fine, but don't expect modern luxury or design.

Historical hotel with very good breakfast. The rooms are quite basic but that is because they want to preserve the hotel as much as posdible from being ruined by new additions.

This hotel is right outside the central train station, so if you’re traveling with luggage it makes it very easy having to walk very far to get to your room. If you will be using the train of the metro to see the city this also makes it very convenient having the train and metro stations so close. The free breakfast is a bonus also.

The staff were all very kind and accommodating. The rooms are with out AC but have a fan. Closing the curtains during the day helped to keep the room cooler. Only offered tea in the room, but coffee was available in the lobby. My TV did not work and I was moved to a new room. The TV stopped working in that room the next day. The hotel is conveniently located with easy access to wherever you are heading. The room was cozy and met my needs. Besides the TV issues, I’d stay there again.

We loved the breakfast. Good range and fresh. Staff were quite friendly and helpful. The only problem was the noise from the street and the Trains passing by. Not suitable for light sleep people. The room was a bit small and outdated. No ventilation in the bathroom or aircon or fan. Mind you we were there in Summer season and got a bit warm inside the room. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Very convenient. Meters from Central Station. The single rooms are small and simple but the bed is comfortable. The lobby is friendly and a nice place to enjoy a beverage and there is a nice breakfast included.
