Bear Rock is a stones throw from downtown Custer and numerous Black Hills activities. With the bungalow as your home base you have access to all the Southern Hills has to offer - Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse & Jewel Cave all within a 20 mile radius. Explore Needles Highway & Sylvan Lake in Custer State Park less than 10 mins away. Experience nightlife of an old west town, numerous dining options, coffee shops and local boutiques. UTV trails, golf or mini golf are all within minutes of the bungalow.

Other things to note:

No Smoking - cigarettes, cigars, vape pens, marijuana, etc., in the home. Do not leave cigarette butts outside. Please bag and dispose of in outside trash.
No Parties - no unregistered guests overnight or for a visit without written approval.
No Pets

There is high speed wireless internet and a Roku TV.

Blink cameras have been placed on the exterior of the house to track weather conditions and parking. These are not directed toward living spaces to protect guest privacy.

Quiet hours 10pm-8am - please be respectful of our neighbors and our community.

**What to expect during the winter**
While winter is generally mild we do experience inclement weather and large amounts of snow can fall in a short period of time. As such we DO recommend having a 4-wheel drive vehicle during the winter months. Our driveway will typically be plowed WITHIN 24 hours of receiving 6 inches of snow, but WILL NOT be plowed after every snowfall. For this reason we strongly encourage guests to drive AWD/4-Wheel drive vehicles.
We also DO NOT offer snow shoveling service during your stay but provide snow shovels available for your use.

This place was wonderful. Super cozy the minute you walked in the door. Comfortable bed with side tables and charging ports on each size. Good water pressure. Kitchen had lots of useful things. Super close to Custer and close to all other areas. Seemed like it was 20-30 minutes at most to places like Mt Rushmore, Wind Cave and Custer State Park. Even closer to Crazy Horse and Jewel Cave. Some good food options in town as well. Even though on a busy road, once inside you couldn’t hear it.

Awesome!!!

This property was great! Don't worry about the location close to a main road, traffic noise was minimal. Beautifully decorated inside and had everything you'll need. The refrigerator stopped working our first day and Nathan promptly replaced it before we were home from our adventures. Great experience, definitely recommend.

Need more nonstick frying pans. A medium and a small one would be nice. Only had a large stainless steel one. Everything stuck to it. Kitchen floor dirty. Had to vacuum it when we got there. Lots of crumbs on it, especially under cabinets. Cleaning crew forgot kitchen floor. Millions of ants on front patio. Need to spray. Need to tell customers not to lock handle lock. Then electronic keypad won’t open door. We contacted host for lockbox code to get key. We got locked out. Bees around back patio. Must be a nest somewhere. You need general directions for whole cabin. Tv, dishwasher etc.But the cabin was so nice. Open concept. Huge bed. Nice big laundry room. Good supply of coffee. Very organized kitchen. We will definitely be back. Great location! Easy to find. Wish we’d have stayed longer.

Felt like home!

Perfect location on the outskirts of Custer. Loved coming back here after a long day of exploring. The king size bed and pillows were perfect! This place really felt like home. A+!! Would for sure stay here again!

Black hills beauty

We had a great stay at this property. The location was great, just a short drive into Custer for great food and entertainment and close to all the wonderful things the black hills has to offer like Mt Rushmore, Sylvan Lake, Crazy Horse, needles highway and iron mountain road to name a few. We appreciated the covered parking since we had our motorcycle with us and ample parking for the truck and enclosed trailer. We didn’t use the kitchen much but it was nicely outfitted if we had wanted to cook, mostly we used it for coffee or a glass of wine. The house was clean, comfortable and beautiful. The only thing that would make this place any nicer would be some landscaping as the flower beds and back patio area were were a bit over run with weeds, but that’s really just being nit picky! We would definitely stay here again!

Gorgeous Home, Spotless, Great Location.

We stay at a number of VRBO properties and this was in our top 5 favorites! The decorating is beautiful, there's lots of space, and the location is great so close to Custer and Custer State Park. There was plenty of parking for our motorcycle trailer and a carport for our vehicle. The home was so clean and inviting. Bed is super comfy. It was great to have a gas grill and a full washer/dryer. We highly recommend this beautiful place!

Fantastic spot

Great location to explore Custer State Park, the Norbeck Byway and Mount Rushmore. It was clean, cozy and conveniently just outside the heart of the town of Custer.
