I am a firm believer in you-get-what-you-pay-for. Yes, this motel is a very low-budget facility. I do expect the rooms to be dated, however, there should never be a reason that any room should wreak of pet odors and body odor. I did not request another room because I was completely exhausted and fell asleep immediately and did not awake for several hours later. It was far too late to request a change.
The fridge and microwave did not work because they were unplugged. The nearest outlet was behind the large table where the TV was sitting and there was a dirty sock lying on top of the TV cord where it is plugged in (not sure how you can plug in two appliances with only one one available plug-in). It was clear that housekeeping never concerned themselves with checking the functionality of the appliances.
The Texas Inn site on Google Maps indicated that there was breakfast available. This is not true. They do have a coffee maker in the room.
There is a Super 8 less than 1/2 mile away that does have breakfast and coffee in the lobby and in the rooms. The rooms I stayed in there were so much nicer and cleaner. The price for both of these places are within $5 of each other so I will stay at the Super 8 for now on.
I generally try to support the smaller businesses in a city, hence the reason I stayed here. Unfortunately, this will not happen again in Denton. I do get through the area frequently and will definitely stay with Super 8 for now on.
