Looking to explore a little further? Indian Hills is perfectly located to explore the best of what the Rocky Mountains have to offer. Hop onto I-70W to go deeper in the mountains to hit up Idaho Springs, Georgetown, Silver Plume, and many more historic towns. One of Colorado's main draws is Rocky Mountain National Park, which can make for a great day trip. Drive a little over an hour and a half through a dramatic canyon for a day of hiking, sightseeing, and wildlife viewing. Depending on your destination, skiing is 1-3 hours away. Locals head to Echo Mountain, Eldora (near Boulder), or Loveland (near Georgetown) for a more low-key experience. We're also within 1.5 hours of Arapahoe Basin, Winter Park, Keystone, Copper Mountain, and Breckenridge.

This location is the perfect jumping-off point for exploring the best of Colorado's mountain towns, the Rockies, and even Denver if you're missing the city life! But, of course, it's impossible to see everything in one visit, so we look forward to hosting you again after you fall in love with Colorado living.

Getting Around:
Mountain living and exploring require you to get around by car. We highly recommended high clearance 4WD for mountain driving, especially during winter. Downtown Denver is East of where you will be staying, and West you can explore the Rocky Mountains. I-70 West will take you further into the mountains, and CO-470 will take you to Golden, jumping on US-6 to get to the heart of Denver. US Hwy 285 will take you South to Conifer and beyond.

Indian Hills is a small mountain community with many nearby mountain towns to explore, including Evergreen, Morrison, Golden, Conifer, Kittredge, and Idledale. Branch out a little further, and you can reach Idaho Springs and Georgetown in about a half hour or Keystone, Winter Park, and Fairplay in just over an hour. Some of the area's best attractions include Red Rocks Park & Amphitheater, Roxborough State Park, Coors Brewery Tour, Loveland Ski Resort, A-basin Ski Area, and even Downtown Denver's City Park, Denver Zoo, and Denver Botanic Gardens are less than an hour away. Get exploring!

Very tight quarters

Bedroom had maybe 12 inches around side of the bed and no closets, dressers, shelves or even hooks to unpack any clothes. Tiny bathroom and kitchen. Sofa and TV were in upstairs loft that could only be accessed by a ladder. Can’t even bring a drink or food up there and would feel unsafe climbing downstairs in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. Owners have a motion.csmera pointed at door but it’s also covers the porch where you would sit on the rocking chairs so they can watch what you are doing all day. I asked about that and they claimed it was disclosed but they aren’t watching . . . Didn’t make me feel much better. Neighbor was powersswing firewood the whole time we were out there.

Unforgettable Mountain Retreat With the Kids

My family and I rented this beautiful treehouse for a weekend getaway, and it was perfect! We came up to see Forrest Frank at Red Rocks Amphitheater, and this spot made the whole trip even more special. Our three kids (ages 5, 8, and 10) stayed up in the loft on the couch and had a blast. They loved the cozy TV setup and spent lots of time looking out the windows at the breathtaking mountain views. My husband and I stayed in the bedroom, which had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The ONLY downside was the lack of storage for our clothes and belongings, I would’ve gladly traded the desk for a bureau or dresser. Other than that, everything was fantastic! The kitchen was perfect, stocked with everything we needed and spotless. One of our favorite parts of the trip was sitting outside on the deck with our morning coffee, soaking in the peaceful mountain views. The hot tub was a huge hit with the kids (and us too!). We spent a lot of time in it and loved the setup with plenty of places to sit around the fireplace and hang out. They also provided a binder full of local recommendations for places to eat, drink, and explore, which was super handy. We especially loved The Cow Eatery, we went twice! You HAVE to try the fish and chips! We had such an amazing time and created some truly special memories. We’ll definitely be back and can’t wait to visit again soon!
