We enjoyed our stay at Des Lux and will definitely be back next time we come through Des Moines. After completing RAGBRAI again we decided to treat ourselves and relax a bit before heading home. The whirlpool was amazing! Spacious and just the right temp. Lots of options for dining nearby. Be sure to stop by the bar and enjoy a cocktail with Sherry.

Gotta try the Des Luxe.

Truly a unique property worth experiencing. Plusses: architecture, room size, great bathrooms, spacious gym, staff was incredibly helpful and friendly Minuses: Breakfast was OK; a little better than a Hampton Inn. And the TV’s need to be upgraded to streaming-capable.

Beautiful property in a great location.

BEAUTIFUL property. Would definitely stay here again. Enjoyed a visit to the bar -service was excellent. Property is walkable to entertainment and dining options. The ONLY complaint is that the large blue LED light on the beer/wine fridge is SO BRIGHT that it's distracting at bedtime. I covered the darn thing with two towels and the light still bled through.
