Room has a wet moisture odor, hot tub was like a child’s bathtub water, no spa bubbles and wasnt hot at all and I called ahead of scheduling to ensure spa worked properly and was informed it does.. And it doesn’t. But we did enjoy the Dove shower & Bath items: shampoo soap and conditioner conveniently attached in the shower for easy use. A/C worked well, sheets and pillows decent.

We came to Des Moines for the State Fair and chose this hotel for it's convenience and value. The staff went out of there way to make sure we were comfortable.

I called a few hours prior to check in to see if it was possible to check in early and was quoted $60 to do so. So I declined that option. When I got to the resort, people were sitting in the back instead of checking in the 5 people in line. The room itself was okay. It was a standard hotel room. I don’t expect much. The bed for me personally was uncomfortable, the ac unit blew freezing cold as I wanted it to, the sheets on the bed made me sweat at night because they didn’t breath much even with the ac set to an arctic temperature. The sink spout itself is very close to the sink so it’s a bit difficult to wash your hands. Which of course is not the fault of the hotel, but if the builder of the sink. The shower/tub combo was okay. When pulling up on the tab on the spout, a significant amount of water was still coming out of the spout instead of through the shower head. I thought maybe it’s just not pulled up all the way, but it wouldn’t come up any more. The pool and hot tub were good. Indoor Pool was cold, hot tub was hot. Jets worked well. They close at 11. The gym had nice equipment in it for a good workout. Breakfast was good and tasty. Overall, I give it a 4/5. I would definitely stay there again.
