A Gem

Outside and inside, this property was beautiful and peaceful. The attention to detail in the gardens and art within the house made it an exceptional experience. There were stunning views from every room and balcony. The amenities were clean perfect and an ease to use. The pool and outdoor sitting and dining areas were pristine, pretty and comfortable. We spent 10 days at Villa Palm Bay. The host was communicative and helpful from the day we booked- sharing with us their favorite local spots for activities and dining. The house exceeded expectations- beautiful- serene- private- lovely living areas - especially outside. Lovely pool and views of the harbor. Comfortable sleeping - well appointed kitchen and bathrooms 2-3 minute drive to town- we thought we would walk but not much of a shoulder on a windy road so always took the car. Would highly recommend this lovely home

Beautiful Setting

Our favorite things about this house were the spectacular views, the extensive outdoor seating/dining areas (which were great for providing shade), and the well-situated pool. It was so relaxing and inspiring to return here after a day of touring the island. The nearby beaches and botanical garden were gorgeous. We had a magical stay!

Beautiful villa, wonderful location

We had a wonderful week at Villa Palm Bay, enjoyed the shaded patio, beautiful views, and very private setting. The gardens were excellent, kitchen well stocked, and villa well furnished. We loved walking to Chez Ernest for dinner, and walking to the bakery in Deshaies in the morning or for dinner and the sunset. Lots to do nearby including the botanical garden with its excellent restaurant, snorkeling at Petit Anse, and paddle boarding at Grand Anse. A wonderful week and we look forward to returning, Merci.

Perfection

We love everything about Cannelle’s house. First, it’s position overlooking the most beautiful, unspoiled bay in the French Caribbean. The house itself is thoughtfully designed, with as much outside space as inside. The town of Deshaies below has a good small grocery and an array of simple, but excellent restaurants. We visited in 2017, again this year, hope to come to this house again. The best of France and the Caribbean blended together. Tres tranquille!

A perfect home with a magnificent view

This was a perfect house for our family. The view was magnificent. Everything we needed was supplied. The villa was beautifully furnished and we loved that the eating and living areas were outside. I believe we found the best accommodation in the best location!

Life in paradise

The property is perched on the hillside above Deshaies which provides a perfect view of the small town and the complete harbor. The weather was perfect and the home very nicely decorated with comfortable furniture. We spent most of our time in the spacious out door living areas around the pool. I would highly recommend this house to anyone a great villa for the cost. One suggestion that I would make would be a gas grill as opposed to the charcoal webber. Anyways at some point in time we would love to come back.

Amazing stay!

Can't get over this place!!. Everything was absolutely perfect. The pictures do not do this place justice as far as the view is concerned. You are actually closer to the sea than the pictures portray. Mylene was there to greet us with a smile and was available if needed ( which we didn't ) Both her and Canelle sent a quick message midweek to make sure things were perfect. Deshais is a short minute drive away. The house was so nice we actually didn't go anywhere two of the seven days. Watching the bay was mesmerizing with all the sail boats etc. If you are considering this house... go for it. You will not be disappointed.

AMAZING house and location

Great location in Deshaies. The house is perfect for 4 people and the expansive outdoor living space was unreal. Views of Deshaies and the bay are so incredible we ended up taking about 30 pictures of pretty much the same scene of sailboats and village. The house was very clean and bug free except when everything was opened up...it IS the tropics though, so expect a few bugs. The owner and staff are VERY responsive to all messages, but there were no issues that needed resolved. If you’re looking into renting this house, just realize that the photos don’t do it justice. It’s better when you get there. Thank you Cannelle!

Superb property in an excellent location

This is an absolutely superb property in a truly excellent location. Our family of 4 (2 boys ages 17 and 13) had an incredible week exploring Deshaies and Basse-Terre with this house as our base. The house is a great size - large master suite and living room on entry level floor, and on the lower level, an adequate bedroom with en-suite (accessible from the outside to shower before entry into the house), a suitable well equipped kitchen, large/incredible outdoor living space, outdoor dining area, large deck and pool. Everything was accurately represented in all the pictures and property description, but hard to appreciate the amazing views and great character of the place until you are there. Deshaies is walkable (about 5 minutes), but windy road with not much shoulder in spots, so we drove down mostly (tons of parking). Deshaies has bakery, grocery store, pharmacy (can be very important when traveling as a family), gas station, some souvenir shops, small markets, and several restaurants. We explored the island during the day - by car, beach Grande-Anse 5 minutes, beach de la Perle 10 minutes (our favorite), beach Leroux 15-20 minutes, beach Petite Anse 20-25 minutes). One day we drove all the way to the marina RiviĂšre-Sens for a sailing trip to Iles Des Saintes, which took about an hour and 15 minutes. In the evening, we would return and either make dinner at the house or dine in Deshaies - Kawan and La Savane (emailed both for reservations), Mahina and La Kaz du Douanier (walked up to make reservations) - highly recommended all four. This was a fantastic vacation and it all comes back to a superb property in a fantastic location. I should also mention the ease of arrival and departure and the great and timely communication with Cannelle. If you are thinking of a trip here, you should consider this home.

We spent a relaxing week at this property and would like to have a home like this for our own. Excellent bedding, perfect layout for sunning or hanging out during brief rains in the outdoor living space. Great water pressure and showers, adequate kitchen supplies and cutlery. very close to the botanical gardens and Deshaies. We would have appreciated more towels, toilet paper and diswasher detergent at the property but this did not detract from our overall joy for this property. and Mylene is just wonderful! Absolutely marvellous

This is a beautiful house in a perfect location. It is quiet, yet just ten minutes walk from the village with its excellent boulangerie and a range of restaurants. There are lots of places to sit and enjoy the view, a fine kitchen and comfortable sitting and bedrooms. Couldn’t be better.

This property is great. The location was perfect for our needs. The local beach were beautiful and for the most part private!! The house is a wonderful 2 bedroom 2 bath. Great outdoor living space to hang out in or have your morning coffee...or Bloody Mary! The pool was a good size and very nice. There is views in basically every room in the house! The sleeping little town called Deshaies has good little local restaurant on the sea. Just a wonderful property!!

Delightful!

The Villa Palm Bay was the perfect vacation house for our family of two adults and two children, ages 7 and 9! The house and its views are lovely and the location feels remote, with wildlife and the sounds of nature all around, yet it is less than a 5 minute drive to Deshaies. The location is also just minutes from a spectacular botanical garden up the hill (don't miss lunch in the restaurant after touring the gardens), as well as conveniently located within about 10 minutes or less to several wonderful beaches, including Grande Anse, Pearl Beach and Leroux Beach, which were the three we visited on Basse Terre, all worthwhile. Day trips to Les Saintes and Le Sufriere Volcano were also accessible from this location, as were smaller trips into Sainte Rose and other neighboring towns. Though Deshaies was a bit sleepy in June, the bakery (fresh croissants!) and grocery stores were open each morning and there were always multiple restaurants open for dinner. Mylene greeted us upon arrival and was very gracious and helpful. She is available if needs arise during the stay. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed and hope to be back! *If you are traveling with young children, note that the "kids bedroom" is downstairs, just steps from the pool, though the pool is equipped with a removable fence for security.

A very relaxing place to stay

Property id #1933705 We stayed at Cannelle Canard's beautiful villa recently to celebrate our friend Lynsey's 40th birthday. The villa is set in it's own grounds above the town of Deshaies (home of the British TV series 'Death in Paradise' It is quiet and secluded with spectacular views over the bay. It's spacious rooms and expansive outside area facilitate a more than relaxed holiday. The little town (10 minutes walk away) has numerous restaurants and bars some of which offer delicious food"

Seul petit bĂ©mol, elle est indiquĂ©e pour 6 couchages mais il vaut mieux ĂȘtre 4, car il n'y a que deux chambres climatisĂ©es et que les couchages supplĂ©mentaires se trouvent dans le salon oĂč il fait trĂšs chaud.
