The staff was….there. Not attentive, not overly thrilled to be there, but the ones that interacted with us were not rude. About a third of the staff we encountered were just on their phones with earbuds in. However, having housekeeping knocking on our door an hour before checkout, basically wanting us to leave, was unnecessary and inappropriate. The rooms themselves are outdated. The beds are a bit lumpy and ours wasn’t even made all the way. Top sheet was hanging off and the fitted sheet and mattress pad were off the top corner. The door for the bathroom and closet is a shared sliding barn style and didn’t stay closed for the bathroom. When we initially walked into our room the thermostat was set to 86 degrees. We quickly turned it down to 70 and the vent blew cold air after that. The room got comfortable but you had to avoid getting too close to the vent. The breakfast was lacking. Watery scrambled eggs, limp sausage links, a vat of oatmeal, waffle maker, cereal, crappy yogurt. There were also no dairy free alternatives for the milk which was disappointing. All in all it was a place to rest our heads. It wasn’t great nor was it terrible.

Very good stay. The staff was excellent and super accommodating. The breakfast in the morning was actually quite good and well presented. And the room was large and very nice. The one recommendation I would make is to have some vending machines on site or better yet a little market. There are lots of restaurants nearby but it would be nice to have something in the hotel for late night, etc.

When I called for bath towels was told I had to come to the front desk to get them. Told them I am not dressed and he said no one is available. The tub was not draining so could not take a shower, the television was not a smart tv so unable to watch a movie to relax.

Check in, and woman at front desk (2:30pm 1/1/2026) check in was great! Told us pool was open until 11 (literally the only reason we booked this hotel) Daughter ran downstairs within 20 minutes of checking in to go swim, there was a “pool maintenance sign… we were told four different situations, it would open. We were there not even 24 hours … It never did, and no one even knew why it was being maintained. When I asked to speak to a manager I was instructed to talk to Ian O’Brien the general manager in the morning… okay… Next day I waited FOUR hours even after our check out time, and still no manager on duty. When asked what time this managers shift starts I was told” well they’re a manager…they don’t really have a shift” WHAT?! what business runs their management that way?! This place is ran like a circus… I will not recommend this property to anyone.

I booked the hotel outside of Detroit for the pool. We have children that enjoy swimming and it is part of the trip. We even booked an extra night so there was time to swim. The pool was closed for a full day which really ruined the end of the trip. I would have thought about staying at more Hampton and recommending it to family, but the lack of pool access really ruined our trip. Also not pleased with the charge for parking. You didn’t even ask if we had a car in the lot.

Great staff but the room was not very comfortable. Te bed had a metal base, air conditioning didnt work properly and heat wouldnt stop in the room while the hallway was very cold. Complained to the front deak about the hallway but nothing happened.

Front desk staff and dining room staff were fantastic and very accommodating. We were there for several days and the hallway on the 5th floor was NEVER vacuumed (I have pictures). Our room was serviced twice, the second time there were no new towels left, had to get from front desk.
