Ennen kuin astut 1830-luvun ovelle osoitteessa 11 Water Street Douglasissa, olet edessä kuistilla ja voit rokkaa yhdellä keinutuolista ja katsella naapurustoa. Kun syötät, olet tämän uuden, ylellisen, 3500 neliön jalkaisen kodin korkealla ruokasalissa, jossa on antiikkinen ruokapöytä, jossa on 8 paikkaa. Bayou-talo voitti kulttuuriperinnön säilyttämispalkinnon vuonna 2006.

Kolme Bakerin davenporttia viereisessä olohuoneessa ovat vettä ja suuri kaasulämmitteinen takka; ne avautuvat ranskalaisten ovien kautta turvatarkastuskuistilla, josta on näkymät veteen ja viereiseen puistoon. Alakerrassa on 10 jalkakattoa ja kaikki makuuhuoneita lukuun ottamatta näkymät rannalle. Sinun tulee toinen keittiö suuressa lasitilassa, jossa on biljardipöytä. Tämän huoneen vieressä on iso alakerran olohuone, jossa on toinen TV-alue, iso poikkipinta ja toinen kaasulämmitteinen takka. Tämä talo on suunniteltu ajatuksella suuresta perheestä, suuresta perheestä, kahdesta perheestä tai yritysryhmistä. Tällä tasolla löydät tietokoneen, jossa on nopea Internet.

A fantastic experience beginning to end. The house is very clean, well stocked, and very comfortable. Everyone slept well in comfortable beds, and the kids enjoyed the stuffed bears that came in their twin beds! Truly a perfect location just a block from the business district and with a pier/dock for friends to boat over. Tons of room with two complete living areas and great outdoor space. The owners were very helpful and got a settled in nicely. I would highly recommend this home!!

I don't generally submit reviews about the properties that I rent, but this rental was exceptional! Everyone in our group marveled at the space and ambience of this house. We especially appreciated all the small touches that made us more comfortable during our stay: food and wine for us to enjoy, extra toilet paper and kleenex so we wouldn't run out, the variety of gathering places in the house suitable for a large group. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Bayou House and heartily recommend it to others!

Absolutely Wonderful Family Vacation

From our very warm welcome (with local delicacies, wine and even flowers) to a beautifully furnished home and spectacular water view - this was a wonderful 3 generations vacation. The town of Douglas is charming and we all enjoyed the many activities in the area, along with the paddle boarding and kayaking. We biked all over - so great! A great house!

It had everything we needed and more—from a fully stocked kitchen and cozy bedrooms to inviting common areas where we could relax, reminisce, and celebrate this special time together.The location was ideal—just minutes from the charming shops and restaurants in downtown Douglas and Saugatuck, yet tucked away enough to enjoy peaceful mornings with a cup of coffee on the porch.Our hosts were fantastic—thoughtful, responsive, and truly welcoming. Yearly Lifetime Friend Trip

We are a group of 8 lifetime friends that take a yearly trip together. We arrived and were greeted with music/lights on, and hostess treats-creating a lovely atmosphere after our travels. The house was pristine clean, wonderfully decorated, and supplied with anything we needed, including upgraded linens and bathroom toiletries. There were two kitchens fully stocked with any item you would need. The house accommodated many gathering areas for 8 people both inside and outside-living room & family room, 2 fire pits areas/screened in porch/upper deck & lower patios.The beds were very comfortable too. There were clear check-in/checkout directions and throughout the house-just be aware that the upper kitchen has an induction stovetop. The location is an easy walk to downtown while being very private. We would highly recommend this property and will stay here again.Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Our weekend stay was absolutely wonderful. The property was represented perfectly in the listing. The house was very well equipped, and every detail was fabulous. Wonderful House for Girls Weekend

This was the best Vrbo home that I have stayed in. It was a wonderful house for a get together for seven friends. The furnishings are lovely and the upstairs living room was a cozy place to gather. The hosts generously provided two bottles of wine, crackers, cheeses and several spreads. The beds were all very comfortable. We did alert the hosts to an issue with the house, and they corrected the problem immediately. Unfortunately, the weather turned colder the weekend we were there, and we did not make use of the backyard and all the paddle equipment. Maybe next time!

Perfect house

Our adult family convened for a relaxing week at the lake. Marta and her home were perfect. Great location, easy to walk to Douglas restaurants and Saugatuk was a nice walk or very quick drive. Immaculate Home & Perfect Location

This property was perfect for our Labor Day weekend with friends. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance and a short bike ride (supplied) to the party town of Sagatuck. The owners thought of everything a group would need as the home was fully stocked! Between the kayaks, for outs, ping pong and pool tables, and bikes we were never at a loss for entertainment. A must stay if looking to stay in this area!!

Beautiful House in Nice Town

The house was extremely comfortable, clean, and well-equipped. It got top reviews from the kids up to the grandmother. The kitchen(s), bathrooms, and bedrooms had everything needed. The mattresses were comfortable, which is rare in a rental. The pool and ping pong tables got plenty of usage as well as the kayaks and rowboat. It's also a very short walk to several good restaurants in Douglas. As with any property in Michigan, the mosquitoes come out at night, but there is plenty of space inside and a comfortable screened porch.

Excellent House for a Multi Generation Family

This house is in a great location, out of the hustle and bustle of Saugatuck but close enough to walk. Douglas had a couple of shops, good restaurants and a fun bar just a block away. The multi level arrangement was perfect for babies being out of the noise. The 2 kitchens were both very well stocked and we used them both. Very clean! The only not perfect aspect oft his trip was the water. The river is not nice here so we didn't use the boats or boards much. However, there were plenty of bikes and we had fun playing pool, ping pong and corn hole! I would definitely come back.

Fabulous House Fabulously Maintained

This was the perfect house for our trip. Plenty of space for relaxing by the water, walkable to everything in town, and well-stocked.
