About this property
Luxe Retreat | 14 Gated Acres, 2 Homes, 2 Pools
Summary:
This is a complete buyout. Fourteen gated acres, two houses, and no one else on the property but your group.
Not a room, not a wing, not a house with neighbours over the fence. When you book, the entire estate is yours — both homes, both pools, both fire pits, the oak woodland and every trail through it. I keep a small barn tucked away on the far eastern edge, screened by a privacy screen.
The Noble House sleeps twelve across five bedrooms, with an observation tower, a chef's kitchen and a heated cowboy pool. The Guesthouse sits on its own acreage with a second pool, fire pit and dog trail — a separate front door for grandparents, a couple who want their own space.
Fourteen guests. Two kitchens. Two pools. Two fire pits. Ten minutes from Wimberley, half an hour from Austin, and quiet enough at night to see the stars properly.
Exclusive use of the whole property. That's the entire point.
The Space:
The Noble House — around 4,300 square feet across five bedrooms, sleeping twelve. A spiral stair climbs to an observation tower with long views over the oak canopy. The chef's kitchen is built for people who actually cook, and there's a Peloton, a Denon surround system and a triple garage. The 10-foot cowboy pool is both heated and chilled, running roughly 65 to 102 degrees, so it works in August and in January alike.
The Guesthouse — a self-contained one-bedroom on its own five fenced acres, with a private cowboy pool, fire pit, dog trail and run. Starlink throughout. It's the quiet corner of the property: ideal for grandparents, a couple who want their own front door, or anyone travelling with a dog who'd rather not share.
The land — fourteen acres of oak woodland with walking trails, a stone water feature, beehives and a cedar-lined drive. All water on the property is rainwater, harvested on site and ozone-treated and Berkey-filtered, so it's softer than city water with no chlorine taste. Firewood for both fire pits is included, as is pool heating — nothing here is an upsell at check-in.
Guest Access:
Booking the whole property gives you both houses and the run of the land — every trail, both pools, both fire pits, the water feature and the woodland.
The gate closes behind you and the drive is private. There is one working barn on the eastern edge of the property that stays private and isn't part of the rental; everything else is yours.
Keyless entry at both houses. Your codes arrive before you travel.
The Neighborhood:
Driftwood is the quiet side of the Hill Country — ranch land, oak and cedar, and dark enough at night to see the stars properly.
You're a few minutes from Salt Lick BBQ, one of the most celebrated barbecue joints in Texas, and close to Driftwood's cluster of wineries and tasting rooms. Wimberley, with its square, galleries and swimming holes, is about ten minutes away. Jacob's Well and Hamilton Pool Preserve are both within easy reach, though both require advance reservations in season.
Austin is roughly half an hour, which makes this an easy base for a wedding, a race weekend or a festival without staying in the middle of it.
Getting Around:
You'll want a car. Driftwood is rural and there's no meaningful public transport or rideshare coverage out here — plan on driving, and consider a grocery stop on the way in.
There's parking for several vehicles on the property, including a triple garage at the Noble House.
Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is roughly forty-five minutes. Drive times given here are approximate and depend on traffic through Austin.
Other Things to Note:
The barn is my home. I live quietly on the eastern edge of the property, behind a screen of cedars and well away from both houses. I am around if you need anything and invisible if you don't — but I'd rather you knew before you booked than were surprised on arrival.
Cameras. There is one exterior camera outside the barn, covering that entrance and one camera at the gate discreetly tucked into the trees for security purposes. There are no cameras inside either house, and none facing the pools, fire pits or outdoor living areas.
Dogs. Welcome at both houses. Please keep them leashed on the wider acreage — the far end of the property is shared with deer and wildlife.
Beehives. We keep honeybees on the property. There's a small hive close to the Noble House, just west of the building, and a larger apiary in the far north-east corner of the woodland. Our bees are gentle and entirely occupied with their own business, but please don't disturb the hives, and keep children and dogs from investigating them. You may see bees around the water feature and the wildflowers — that's a healthy sign of a working Hill Country property, and they have no interest in you. If anyone in your party has a bee allergy, please tell us before you book so we can talk it through, and bring whatever you'd normally carry.
Water. Everything runs on harvested rainwater. It's excellent water, but it's a finite tank rather than a mains supply, so we ask that you're sensible with long showers when the house is full.
The land is working country. Expect uneven ground on the trails, wildlife at dusk and the occasional insect. Wear proper shoes if you're walking the northern acres.
Check-in from 3pm, checkout by 11am.
Interaction with Guests:
Check in is touchless, everything is automated.
