Disliked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities
First, good parts - Property is centrally located, walkable to main attractions.
Now the bad parts/poor service -
1. Checkin - Room I received on the day of check-in had strong smell of piss. AC was not working. There was no phone to connect with front desk. Only way to talk to them was via WhatsApp bot where front desk would respond with delays. When escalated with Expedia, I was finally moved post mid night in a different suite/floor. I was given complementary breakfast the next day which had very limited variety.
2. Room AC is not in your control but centrally managed and won't go below 18C. When asked, I was informed that to "manage emissions levels for hotel, they won't allow it to go beyond below 18". They would also shut down AC sometime in night and we found ourselves waking up sweating. I wish I had known this so I could read rulebook for hotel instead of enjoying my vacation!
3. Front desk staff (specially night crew) was not responsive. Only way to get to them is through WhatsApp bot chat which was terrible experience.
4. There was no cleaning in the unit for 5 days. I was told that they would only clean the suites if you stay 7 days or longer. Again, a rule not known to me but I was informed at property.
5. Costly - This place is expensive. For 400+ CAD a night, I have stayed in better hotels in mid-town New York!. This was certainly not worth the money and I would strongly recommend to look around for different options for that price point.
