Staff wasn't friendly nor helpful. We asked for more towels, toilet paper and trash bags since they don't offer house keeping (maids won't come until after 3, accordingly to the front desk) , none of them were provided. We stayed for five days. Wasn't helpful when asking about buses or transportation. Directed us to outside to look at the bus stops. Overall okay. I wouldn't say it's a four star hotel. Location is great but can be loud at night.

Nice property but we were at the back of the hotel where they’re building a block of flats. Every day from 7:00am - 8:00pm they were drilling, hammering and generally making tons of noise. At night, they had a floodlight pointing at the hotel. The room was great and hotel lovely and I appreciate they can’t control building works but the air con didn’t work very well so you had to have the window open so the room wasn’t an oven. They could have told us about the works before we arrived or checked in but didn’t mention it. Oh and when you turned on the cold tap, the pipes banged!

Stayed here for a few nights and honestly, the main highlight was the location, you really can’t beat it. Right in the middle of downtown Dublin, super easy to walk everywhere. Check-in was a breeze and the staff were really friendly, which was a nice touch. The room had a small kitchen, which was super handy and probably the reason a lot of people rate this place so highly. If you’re staying longer or want to cook your own meals, it’s definitely a plus. That said, the hotel itself was just okay. My room smelled a bit like smoke, and the bar and restaurant were closed, which was a bit of a letdown. Nothing terrible, just not as great as some of the reviews had me expecting. All in all, not a bad stay, just don’t expect anything fancy. Great location, helpful staff, and the kitchen is useful, but otherwise pretty average.

We stopped for 4 nights recently and found the Zanzibar Locke to be a fantastic place stay. The staff on reception were friendly and helpful. We had a twin room on the first floor (room 1.16) and it was spacious and modern with a small fitted kitchen with cooking facilities,fridge,microwave/oven and washing machine. The bathroom was modern and spacious. It is right next to the famous Halfpenny Bridge which leads straight into the Tempke Bar area. There are plenty of dining,bars and shops nearby.
