You’ll also be spoilt for choice when it comes to walking; from waterside strolls at Gare Loch (5 miles) to exhilarating hikes at Ben Lomond (25 miles). The long-distance John Muir Trail also passes nearby – just a 2-mile walk from the house, with great views of Loch Lomond. The pretty conservation village of Luss (13 miles) on the shores of Loch Lomond makes a lovely day out. Helensburgh (5 miles) has a good range of eateries, a cinema, a swimming pool and a sports centre. Head to Glasgow – just 45 minutes away by train – and explore its vibrant cultural scene and visit museums and art galleries.
Your own 1700's wing of a baronial mansion is steeped in history and has been decorated and furnished in an elegant style that complements the property’s original features. Leave coats and boots in the entrance porch, before exploring the rest of the home. On the ground floor, a fabulous kitchen/diner awaits, with country-cottage styling and all the equipment needed to cater for a large group, including a Range-style oven. Gather here, after a day of adventure, to share delicious, home-cooked feasts around the wooden dining table. Also on this floor is an inviting twin bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with a bath and separate shower.
