Had to wait quite a while to get checked in and some people who arrived after me got served before me Could do with a dedicated reception desk but difficult due to location of bar Desperate for toilet but someone was messing about in there and couldn’t gain access as very small Despite pre-paying booking, asked to provide credit card (not told what for) and was charged again which is still to be resolved as hotel and hotels.com each blaming each other and still waiting for assistance 3/4 days later

I was expecting big things from the hotel , the whole dark thing. I heard good reviews but it wasn’t for me. For the price it wasnt worth it. I upgraded my room to a 4 poster bed expecting something a bit better but the room was so small. You couldn’t swing a cat in it. My Mrs and I could barely walk by each other. The toilet was so small, if you have a shower it soaks the whole toilet because the shower has a curtain that stops a metre off the ground. The room was so dark and it didn’t even have a window for natural sunlight in it. No fridge, a cupboard with drinks in it. Was really poor. I’ve stayed in a lot better hotels in Edinburgh for cheaper. Not for me

Staff were amazing, room was pretty small.. but we upgraded the package and that was amazing.. well worth it breakfast was great so we’re the cocktails and chocolates..

Overpriced. Dirty. Dated. Poor communication between the emails, the app and WhatsApp, a mix up on drinks and the package we had booked. Staff didn’t know if they were coming or going. Room was promoted as cool and quirky and God like, but was more old and dirty. Horrendously overpriced and not worth it. Milk and cookies were crap. The breakfast “hamper” was 2 mini croissants heated up in the microwave and a jar of granola, coffee was cold.

Great location in central Edinburgh. All the staff were very helpful and really nice. I liked the option to work in the bar where there are plenty of handy plugs for charging computers etc. The overall ambience is great.

Place was not as advertised for anything short of an expensive quickie. Pictures are alluring. Rooms are so small that we had to walk on our baggage to get around. Beds definitely not queens. Thought it would be entertaining so we booked for two nights at the end of a Scotland trip. Checked out early the next morning and were told we would be contacted by 'the office manager" for a refund for the second night. Still waiting. Stay away unless you enjoy tight quarters with dark stained walls and fabrics. The people before you might have left some souvenirs.
