We hadn’t stayed before and hadn’t realised that it was quite a small hotel, but for a two night stay it was fine. The rooms are adequate though there isn’t much space at all to unpack, no drawers and 4 hangers. It was very clean however. We didn’t have breakfast, but the bar, reception and breakfast area are all in one and pretty small.
Our main issue was the heating. Since I’ve read the other reviews it’s seems it is a known problem, however the staff acted surprised when on the first morning I complained that I had been cold all night as the air con didn’t seem to heat up but even when we tried to turn it off the fan still blew. They said they’d have maintenance look and put a heater in the room. When we walked in after being out all day the room was hot and stuffy from the fan heater (I’m not sure how safe that is either!) again the air con fan was noisy all night but no heat so we had to keep turning the heater on and off. On check out I mentioned that it hadn’t been ideal having a fan constantly blowing out cool air then haven’t to override it with a fan heater, it was noisy and disrupted our sleep all weekend. Again they seemed surprised, even though we’d already told them the day before and just said they get maintenance to look at it. For this reason I don’t think we’d stay again, unfortunately these things affect a stay and knowing it has been an ongoing issue and not dealt with, feels somewhat misleading.
