A nice stay.

Really enjoyed our few days away. Staff were friendly, room and bed were really comfortable and pool area was nice and relaxing. My only issue was that we went into the pool after it was cleaned and me and my partner could barely open our eyes they were stinging that much and we were coughing quite a bit from the chlorine. It was slightly painful.

Good hotel. Room cleaning was hit and miss. We had to go and ask for towels and other items that were not replaced in the room after cleaning. The room and bathroom wasn't the cleanest we ever stayed in. The breakfast was of a good standard but warm plates for the hot food options would have helped to keep the food warm. The coffee was from a machine and ok. Good selection of breads and hot food and fruit etc. breakfast staff were good. The pool is very small and you have to reserve your place when busy. The location is a couple of minutes walk from the Royal Mile with a good bus service near the hotel to other areas. There is a sainsbury local shop at the back of the hotel and others were located a few streets away like piundland and coop. There are also restaurants and takeaways nearby.

Short break in Edinburgh

The staff in the hotel are very welcoming and attentive. Our room was spotless and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast which had plenty of choice . I must almost mention how nice it was to have the pool for an evening swim. Overall this is a perfect choice of hotel to explore Edinburgh , it is very convenient and within walking distance to the castle. I would recommend it to anyone considering staying in Edinburgh.

Wonderful hotel & close walking distance

Novotel was very clean & the front desk were very nice during our stay! There’s a gym , pool & hot tub available for guests. It’s located in a very nice area of Edinburgh & was within 20min walking distance to tourist attractions. 15 min walk to EDI castle, the university Meadows is nearby & the national museum, 15 min to waverly station & so on!
