Excellent location, nice modern vibe

Good stay. Will stay again. Only down side was the bed was sagging at one side - needed a new mattress. Did not effect me as single occupant I just slept on the other side of the bed. Reception staff were a bit slow.

Be prepared to climb loads of stairs

Our room was on the top floor and they don't have a lift. We found it really tough and didn't look forward to going back to our room during our stay. We didn't even get help with taking our luggage up and down. Worse still our bed sheets were not changed for the 4 nights and had to ask for shower gel each day. But generally the hotel is nice and in good location.

Amazing everything!!

From the staff to the soap on the toilet was everything just amazing and even the little problens we have were fixed straight away. Highly recomended!!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic, would recommend

Fantastic hotel, great location. Found staff very helpful, explained how to get around by bus or tram and best places to visit. Already looking forward to going back.

Ideal location but not 4 star accommodation

Warm welcome on arrival by friendly staff. Bags taken to room because this hotel doesn't have a lift! Ordered a meal on the 1st night had to eat in residents lounge because restaurant in use for a Christmas party. My steak meal was adequate but my wife's beef contained a lot of gristle. Breakfast was poor. The pre cooked hot buffet Scottish breakfast was disgusting - best to order freshly cooked if you can. 2nd day of our weekend stay housekeeping did not clean our room or change towels in the bathroom. We paid extra for larger rooms but not worth the extra money. Hotel is ideally situated at the end of the line for the tram from the airport and also close to Princes street. There's a premier inn due to open just down the road in 2016 - I think we shall go there next time we visit Edinburgh. In summary the Place hotel is a 3 star hotel charging 4 star prices.

Great location. Great property.

Right next to the station, this 'Place' was exactly what I needed. Really spacious apartments but with the added benefit of great friendly staff and a delicious breakfast.

Rugby trip

Lovely little hotel at the end of the tramline, so very easy to get to from the airport. We didn't eat here, but menu looked good, although dining area is quite small. Overall, this was a great place from which to explore the city and very good value considering we were in Edinburgh for the final match of the six nations rugby tournament.

City Break

The location of this hotel is great as it is on the tram and bus routes. It is also within walking distance of great restaurants and the main shopping areas. We had one of the older rooms which should not be advertised as 4 star standard. They are small, extremely hot and the bathroom was in need a major upgrade. The staff in this hotel are extremely helpful.

Couple weekend break away

Lovely, modern themed hotel with warm, friendly, welcoming staff as soon as you arrive. Located in a quiet area, great for relaxing in after a day in the city. The local tram station is conviently just a 30 second walk away from the hotel which runs directly to the main shopping street and then on to the airport which was very handy for us. Breakfast at the hotel was gorgeous you can eat as much as you like so we certainly ate well during our stay. The only negative i have about this hotel is that it needs a lift for those staying on higher floors and the restaurant evening menu could do with more choice, it seems more like a basic lunch menu.

Lovely hotel and staff

Lovely hotel, location was perfect with the tram just outside the door. Our room was lovely and clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We will definitely stay here the next time we visit Edinburgh.
