It was awful. There was a wedding on one of the nights I stayed and the music was so loud in my room I could clearly hear the lyrics. It went on until 2 am. When I complained they told me they would comp my breakfasts, but they still charged me for them. Never again.

The property is situated in a great area, accessible to all the sites and shopping. Our rooms’ bathroom glass door was improperly installed so it was crooked and could gave shattered because it was banging into the other glass door. The drywall in the bathroom seemed cracked as well. There are no extra toiletries such as qtips/dental kit/comb etc but the shampoo/conditioner are good. The gym is beautiful and this hotel is extremely convenient to the train station.

Room and staff were very good. The only negative feedback I could say about the hotel was the outside stairway that is adjacent to your hotel. The Scotsman Hotel should really clean and hose it down each day as it is presentation of the hotel as well (even if it is not the hotel property). You should sweep and hose it down daily as it smells of urine and is very dirty. It would be nice to be able to walk up to the reception door from Market St and not worry about if you are going to run into a homeless person sleeping on the stairs.

The location of the Scotsman Hotel was great, however our room and the property was not ideal. Stains on the carpet, toilet did not work in its entirety, bathroom door was awkward. The room was very noisy as well, we had a higher expectation based on other reviews. We would not stay here again nor would we recommend.

Our room was comfortable and clean.Front desk staff were friendly and helpful.Food quality in the restaurant was reasonable.I was disappointed with 2 issues: 1) I booked a reservation in the Grand Cafe over 6 months before arrival as I was hosting a dinner with friends only to be notified a few days before they had sold out the restaurant to a private function.They moved us to a basement bar area that was not very comfortable for a dinner with inexperienced

True 5 star experience. Beautiful hotel, comfortable beds and rooms, immaculately maintained, with staff that went above and beyond with every single interaction. Not to mention being right off the Royal Mile, easily walkable to the Old Town and the New Town. The Scotsman really delivered excellence. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Edinburgh!

Cozy and clean

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was very cozy and clean. The shower water pressure was amazing and I loved the towel warmer. I could of used Extra pillows which I'm sure if I asked I would have received. I would definitely stay there again.
