The Bluebell Cottage kitchen is fully stocked with ample dinnerware, a variety of glassware including non-breakable for outdoors.
Just off the kitchen is a beautiful four-season, white-washed sun porch with relaxing wicker-style furnishings, shiplap cathedral ceiling, large skylights, transom windows and a pot-belly stove for cooler nights. With its walls of windows, the sun porch is a delightful indoor spot to watch the sunset.
The great room offers both dining and living room areas in one expansive yet cozy space, crowned by a large stone fireplace with barn doors that conceal a flat-screen, smart television just above the mantel. Luxurious leather reclining sofas and "sink'in" chairs, plus a soft oriental carpet provide the perfect place to relax after a busy day on the water.
The main floor features a large master bedroom with huge windows overlooking the bay. The master bath combines granite, charming barn lights, Carrara tile and an indulgently spacious walk-in shower. A second guest room on the first floor overlooks the wildflower meadows, and is adjacent to a full bathroom.
The patio at Bluebell Cottage is the place to be for relaxation and magnificent water views. The patio features a large charcoal grill, soft outdoor lighting, a large table, umbrella and chairs for ten. A charming stone staircase leads to a generous pier with a swim ladder. The pier is an ideal spot for all day water fun, and to enjoy a glass of wine as the sun sets. A fire pit and light-weight, Adirondack-style chairs complete the tranquil outdoor setting.
Upstairs at the cottage is a large guest room with hand-painted furniture, a barn wood headboard, and a private bathroom that features a sun tunnel for exceptional lighting without ever flipping on a light switch.
The star of Bluebell Cottage's second floor is the 'bunk room,' which features four extra long, spacious bunk beds. While perfect for youngsters, the bunk room can comfortably used by adults as well. The bunks, made of solid wood, feature an easy staircase, rather than a ladder, to reach the upper beds. Each spot has its own cubby space with outlets for recharging phones plus an individually-controlled bunk light. Just off the bunk room is a large bathroom with two vanities, a walk in shower, and lots of storage space. Both upstairs bedrooms feature beautiful views of the water.
The second floor also offers a spacious bonus room, with a large flat screen television and plenty of room to spread out for rainy day board games. The bonus room is carpeted, and showcases charming dormers.
All Bluebell Cottage beds feature memory foam mattresses, velvety-soft sheets, generous pillow and comforters. All bathrooms contain fluffy white towels, bath mats, hair dryers, hand soap and make-up remover wipes. A convenient first floor laundry features a large washer and dryer.
The home is located a short walk from beautiful Murphy Park, which offers a sand beach and public pier. Wedding parties posing for pictures by the water are a common site at Murphy Park.
A five minute drive north from Bluebell Cottage leads to charming Egg Harbor, with its picturesque park and harbor, shopping and restaurants.
There is much to do in Egg Harbor and beyond. Door County is ideal for family gatherings or adult getaways year round.
