Easy care apartment with private entrance in a duplex A comfortable place to start your day with coffee on your deck in a fenced yard or return to after a day in Acadia National Park and shopping in Bar Harbor. One of 2 units in the duplex . Most suited for 2 people with a full size bed, but there is a pullout futon in the den . We allow well behaved, hypoallergenic dogs only !!! With a pet fee of 200$ per reservation . A seasonal kayak company is located adjusant to the property ,

This location is not for taller people. Not possible stand upright in stairway, bathroom, and sinks, because angled ceilings. Still fairly functional except for the shower. Given where the head is and it not being adjustable, this configuration is pretty tough for all heights.Host allowed for flexible terms which we were grateful for. In fact, the host was very nice. I wish I lived closer so I could have helped out the renovator that clearly struggled here. We would have had fun as I would have enjoyed helping with things like masking the walls and furniture so the floor paint didn’t get on them. I also could have helped with the wall plastering and caulking problems, and some of the door moulding that was put in with deck screws rather than finishing nails. Also an extra hour or so to work out plumbing and electrical issues would do wonders and be satisfying. I will certainly reach out if I have some spare extended time there.

The accommodations were clean, modern, comfy bed upstairs and mom said the futon downstairs was comfy. Climbing stairs between the living room downstairs and the bathroom & kitchen upstairs is not for those with physical limitations. The only source of heat were space heaters - mom had hard time staying warm & navigating the stairs. Having two small refrigerators was nice. The kitchen was well equipped. The TV was internet dependent - good up to the last night. There are numerous pine trees on this property so our vehicle got pine sap and needles all over it. The decorations outside were very pretty - nice touch. Getting to Bar Harbor and Ellsworth was a breeze. The coastal drive from Ellsworth to Belfast via hwy 1 and via 7 on the way back was very pretty and lots of color in the trees. The tour we took of Acadia Nat'l Park was awesome despite the weather. Plenty of restaurant choices in Bar Harbor and Ellsworth. Our host was very nice. Check in and out was a breeze.

Nice stay. Communication with host was great. Location is easily accessible to acadia and other local areas. Had to work on our stay and wifi was more than adequate for daily calls. Local market was nice for our basic needs.

Clean and comfortable

Property was clean and very comfortable. Bed was comfortable we had a great sleep every night. Neighborhood was very quiet. Christine the owner was very helpful and kind. We enjoyed our stay.

Great little place

Nice location close to everything. As noted it is rustic but has everything you need. Quiet area. The AC is in the bedroom only but that’s ok. I’m sure that normally you don’t need AC in Maine but it was in the 90s when we arrived so I was glad we had AC in the bedroom. Close to Acadia, Bar Harbor and Elllsworth. The wifi is strong with the boosters so had no problem working remotely during our over week stay.

A fabulous little home!

This place was really great for our trip to Maine. It has everything you will need for a short or long stay. It's a nice cozy and rustic home. The kitchen is well equipped and they provide enough towels, sheets, and blankets for everyone. The hosts live in a separate section of the home and were the nicest people! Chrissy provided us with extra sheets and blankets for a last minute friend who wanted to join our trip. Lamoine State park is really close and it's about a 25 minute drive to Acadia National Park. It's also great for dogs! The neighborhood is really quiet and safe so we felt comfortable walking our dog late at night. If we ever get the chance to visit Maine again we will definitely stay here! Thank you!

The cabin is part of a remodeled house in the woods in Lamoine. The owners live in part of the house. The cabin is very private. Shawn runs a kayak rental service at the property as well but it doesn’t interfere with your stay. The cabin is easy to find. It was quaint & unique in its design & layout. The kitchen & bath are upstairs from the main living area. Its not plush, it's a cabin. It's very clean & comfy. The owners thought of everything for guests such as towels, kitchen stuff, brochures & info, even a state park pass for Lamoine State Park. There are books, TV, internet, electric fireplace & much more. They were still adding amenities after we arrived. Always thinking of things to make our stay better. We were their 1st stay booked online. The cabin is only 30mins from Bar Harbor & Acadia park. On day 3, there was a minor hiccup with the property. Shawn immediately addressed the issue but found it couldn't be resolved timely. Chistine arranged for us to stay at a resort on Mt. Desert Island for the rest of our stay. As we packed up to relocate, Shawn invited us back for a cookout that evening. Which we did. Great meal & great hospitality. The owners hospitality and care of us was above and beyond. They are very good people. We highly recommend staying at their cabin for anyone wanting to visit the area but not stay in the busy area of Bar Harbor. Great place to relax and you will be taken care of!
