The property is in a beautiful location. The hotel itself has seen better days. Although the staff is attentive and assists in all requests, there is a sense of the place being "tired" and in need of a facelift. With some care the place could be a 4 star property.

We really liked the hotel. Nice rooms, very nice area for breakfast. Very convenient that breakfast is included. Polite staff. Very close to all sightseeing, located in the area with many restaurants and shops. But! When we checked in we paid their city tax cash and unfortunately didn’t get the receipt Then when we checked out the other receptionist told us it’s a different tax or smth and we were in a rush and paid it again . Then I checked and texted them to explain and they said it was a misunderstanding.. but so far money haven’t been returned and they went quiet.. so!!! Be careful and make sure you don’t repeat our mistake. Get the receipt and double check what you have to pay at the property so you don’t pay in twice!

Buffet Breakfast was terrible - plastic wrapped dry croissants, bowl of apples, cheap sliced bread etc. hugely disappointing and seating outside when it’s very cold first thing in the morning. No room upgrade provided. Bedding in room 104 was a sheet and throw (not thick fabric) so I was very cold all night. WC made constant flushing noise which hotel did sort but got no sleep first night. Room 10 (my sisters room) - shower room with curtain very basic; room is behind reception, with bed up wooden stairs on a mezzanine and no space to move around. Mum was in room 109 which had slightly more space but still very basic. There’s nowhere to sit if you get back from visiting sites and want a cup of tea other than seating along one wall of entrance hallway. Trying to get a taxi into the centre of Florence was impossible early morning - there just weren’t any available so it’s a little too far out as a good 30 minute walk into the centre. Tip- get the local no11 bus which is nearby. Gardens of the hotel aren’t particularly well cared for. Photos make this hotel look a lot nicer than it is. We were pretty disappointed. It was clean and staff were helpful but overall experience was poor.

Truly Classic

Truly a “classic” hotel with a quaint feeling. Breakfast in the garden couldn’t have been lovelier. The staff was exceptionally helpful. The location,near Porta Romano, gave easy access to Florence.
