Fantastic location and walkable from train station. The beds were comfy and quality linen. Gorgeous bathroom . Big thank you to room maids who were attentive with good customer service . Customer service top class. Moved to alternative room as light sleeper . Avoid - road facing rooms . Noisy outside and the quality of window fitting is poor . ( which is a shame as they must’ve cost a fortune to purchase) . Drafts and noise come in . Get contractors back to fill gaps with lime mortar not builders light foam. Avoid - breakfast . Burnt scrambled egg that had been left sitting too long ‘warming’, green boiled eggs and poor effort on the ham and chopped carrots front . If I was hotel manager I would ditch the breakfast offering it reflects poorly on the rest of the stay . Top tip - cafe rooster for breakfast Yes would stay again

The Calimala Hotel was superb in every way! The room was artistic and gorgeous. We enjoyed the lovely breakfast and hospitable staff! The location was definitely a huge plus! We look forward to returning in the future to explore Florence!

Right in the heart of the medieval centre of Florence meant we could walk to all the main sites. The hotel appeared have been recently refurbished and is finished to a beautiful standard. The rooms are both comfortable and stylish. The rooftop bar/restaurant gives a great city panoramic view.

Brilliant location in the heart of the historic centre of Florence and so close to all the main sights. Staff are wonderful - helpful and courteous and always there to provide a recommendation if needed. Rooms are stunning - beautifully designed with a mix of old and new, we particularly loved the exposed brickwork, the high ceilings and the tiles in the bathroom. Just be aware some rooms within the same category aren’t as great as others - our son and his girlfriend had a room with a tiny shower whilst we had one that was massive.

My visit was in winter and it was rainy so I loved that it is central to shopping and the museums. 10-15 minute walk to most places. The staff was very detailed and friendly. Our room was gorgeous and immaculate in every way. We had beautiful big windows to open and let in fresh, cool air. Breakfast was worth it and very delicious with fresh cut fruit pastry items and espresso drinks/ juice/ sparkling water 😍 I had tons of time to explore all day instead of looking for something to eat so definitely recommend the hotel breakfast which includes access to the rooftop dining in another building. The hotel is modern but you can still see incredible architectural features. Thank you hotel calimala for an amazing birthday stay.

The hotel is generally good but I was very bothered by the music and noise from a restaurant downstairs on the first night during my stay. I asked to change the room and the staff was helpful to arrange a quiet room for me on the next day. You may want to double check with the hotel on this point before you reserve if you are a light sleeper as I am.

We stayed in a huge corner room that was a fun mix of historic (exposed stone) and designer (multicolored marble bathroom), and we could see the Duomo’s campanile from our window. Staff was exceptional— helpful, responsive, and friendly, Location was great — Uffizi, the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, etc. were easily walkable, and restaurants and shopping opportunities abound. Good breakfast.
