We had a wonderful 1-night stay at the Franz Joseph Oasis. Everything from our check in when we arrived to cleanliness of the room and staff responsiveness to our every question was wonderful. The young lady at the front desk is wonderful and took care of us with a smile. A must consider hotel if you are visiting Franz Joseph.

This was a lovely place to stay at. Staff members were very helpful and polite. The large room was nicely furnished in a minimalist style. Generous sized bathroom with nice toiletries. The room looked out onto a small pond and patio chairs were available on decking to relax and unwind. A laundry was available to guests. The breakfast was simple and nutritional. A small buffet range of cereals, fruits, cheese, tomato, cold meat, boiled eggs and bread. Help yourself. It was non fussy and filling. Definitely stay again and would recommend it to family and friends

I had a wonderful stay at Franz Josef Oasis. The property is quiet, cozy, and conveniently close to the glacier. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Overall, a great experience — I would definitely stay here again when visiting Franz Josef.

Staff were really helpful. Stayed on way past normal check in time after we were delayed by a 7 hour road closure. Electric.log fire was on which gave a warm cosy welcome along with a small welcome gift that was much appreciated. Good suggestions for dining out and places to go. Had a good outside seating area, by dining area was sheltered with heaters allowing to have breakfast outside with open country views.

The rooms were spotless, containing a bath with jets and overhead shower. Great water pressure. Located 10 mins from the town in a nice quiet location. The lady at reception was very friendly and helpful and gave us tips where to eat. The gentleman at breakfast was very polite and friendly. The hotel also has a 24 hr laundry with a honesty box available but we didn’t use it.

The owners are so friendly and welcoming! The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was a nice spread. It’s conveniently located to the main area of Franz Josef. I would stay here again.

Room was very clean and comfortable but a bit bland for the size and cost. Could be much improved with a coffee machine or plunger and a couple of paintings on the bare walls. Continental breakfast fairly basic but reasonable. Nice outlook from the room.

Double check the tv remote is working for all rooms before guests arrive , but no problem! We turned it on at the tv instead. Wasn’t a big deal but will help with convenience for future guests :)

Angela was a superb host. So warm and welcoming. The rooms are excellent with lots of thought put in to the little things that make a stay special like - the fireplace in the room and the comfy lounge chairs. Definitely the best place we have stayed during our two weeks roadtrip around the South Island.

At first l thought this going to be bad , but the check in was flawless. The room was extremely nice. Sitting outside watching the sunset and clouds flowing through the mountains was so refreshing. The stars were incredible. Finally the breakfast granola choices were excellent. Ate twice. 5star

Property was located a few kilometers north of town. Lovely view out the back of the complex over a green pasture and pond. Room was spacious with Scandinavian style architecture and furniture. Center of the complex held the reception desk and breakfast buffet tables. You can sit outside on the deck

This hotel is a lot further out from town than I expected and it is not walkable to the town of Frans Josef. BUT, the view is spectacular and the rooms were great. Would definitely recommend someone staying at the hotel as long as they had a vehicle which I did not due to me arriving with a tour group.

This was probably our favorite place to stay in New Zealand. It's out of town so you definitely need a car, but the rooms are HUGE and modern and comfortable and immaculate. Unbelievably quiet at night. Breakfast was fantastic, fresh and delicious with a nice variety. The person who managed check-in was friendly and helpful. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
