Galena Vacation

We had a nice stay and plenty of room for the family. The host was great for checking in with us and making sure everything was ok. The dishwasher leaked and he said he’d send someone to fix it. I just told him, we ate out a lot and would hand wash what we used, so he could send someone after our departure. The only thing I was disappointed about was the yard was not maintained as we would expect. They did come mow a couple days after our arrival and graded the driveway from storm wash out. The owners club amenities were great! We definitely enjoyed the pool. The kids enjoyed popcorn on movie nights in the theatre. The shuffle board was one of our favorites along with the Pac-Man video game. Yes I would stay again and check in was a breeze! Got our cardio work out on the stairs and loved watching the wild turkeys daily!

Natural Retreat

We had a group of 9 folks here for my birthday weekend and had an overall very nice stay. The outdoor views are incredible, and we had a nice time walking around the trails nearby and going into DT Galena to be tourists as well. The house itself is very pretty and well laid out - lots of convenience for adults to have their own large beds and mostly private bathrooms. We had a few nitpicks around things like the dishwasher/grill/knives being worn or dirty or not working properly, but it wasn't a major detractor from our trip - these are items that can easily be remedied by the team managing the property going forward - I'm a picky person and have high expectations.If you love big woodwork architecture and panoramic views, this property delivers that very well.

The home is as beautiful as in the photos! Very spacious and included a few extras making us feel as if we were in a hotel (e.g., coffee and tea bar, soaps, shampoos, etc). Communication with property manager was easy before and during stay. We would definitely come back!

Family fun in Galena 2024

Family members from across the state meet and enjoy the weekend. We relax, play games, watch tv and eat. Always shop too!! Usually go sledding but we need snow! Had a wonderful time in this beautiful home!!

Family Thanksgiving

We made special family memories in this beautiful home in a wonderful setting. We arrived in the evening and was greeted with lights on and a surprise of a Christmas tree all lit up and one of the fire place mantles decorated and lit up. We enjoyed rushing around picking out our bedrooms, unpacking and sitting around talking. The pool table and hot tub was a great hit with the grandchildren, and the firepit with the adults. We had smores and talks and wine and just a very special time. The house is beautiful and plenty of room for everyone. The bedding is luxurious as were the towels. We had Thanksgiving around the table where all 11 of us could sit. That was one of the reasons I chose this house. During the day we walked down and enjoyed looking at the outstanding horse facilities near by. We also enjoyed the resorts indoor pool and basketball court and cocktails at the resorts lounge. The host was very nice and accommodating and went out of his way to make sure we were happy. Hopefully we can make a repeat visit!

Annual Girls' Weekend

Gorgeous property, gorgeous views.... We didn't have enough time to use the amenities with the property and HOA, but we loved the multiple king size beds and plenty of bathrooms for NINE women! We were a little bummed that we couldn't get the fireplaces working, but the hot tub was amazing after long hours of nearby shopping!

Wonderful Getaway

The location is beautiful and the floor plan was perfect for our group. It allowed us to spread out and not have the noise of one activity impact others. The hot tub is a great size and the view was beautiful, yet we still had privacy from the surrounding homes. The house is well supplied. It was lovely to have it decorated for the holidays. The bedding is a nice quality and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen was easy to work in. The only suggestions we would make is to add a couple of paring knives and a roll of foil. Thank you for a wonderfu getaway!

Very nice! We enjoyed our stay very much. Chose this home for its 5 bedrooms (each with TV) and 5 bathrooms - plenty of towels and an excellent laundry room. We really appreciated the lovely country view from the main living area and the large deck which both have big tables to seat a large group. Sorry we didn't get around to using the nice firepit area or the pool table. Having a large fridge both downstairs and up was another plus. Recommend only for groups that can handle stairs and suggest you study the odd light switch placement before dark.

Great place

Pros: Very comfortable and clean. We liked that we all had a king bed. Hot tub and fire pit were awesome additions. Kitchen actually had basic dry goods (cooking oil, some spices, etc) Too many rentals (this site or the other rental website that Vrbo won’t let me name here) don't have anything and I always seem to forget oil spray for morning eggs. Only small Con About 17 minutes from Galena. Not a huge deal, just FYI. Very little to no cell reception in Galena or at property. Again, not their fault. Just FYI.

Had everything we needed. Could have used a few more items in the kitchen, ie measuring spoons, more dish towels and dish cloths. Other than last seemed well equipped. Ice maker is kitchen was frozen up and freezer itself was frosted over.

Spacious quiet getaway

Had a wonderful time at this spacious and charming house with two extended families (8 adults and 4 kids). Loved having attached bathrooms for most bedrooms. Plenty of common space on the deck, family rooms and by the fire pit on the patio for socializing (kids enjoyed the s’mores). Beautiful views of the rolling countryside. Well-stocked kitchen has everything you would need for cooking or baking. The location is about 20 mins drive to shopping and Galena downtown which is a must visit. Owner was very helpful and responsive to our questions. There are indeed many stairs but the 70-80 year old seniors in our family did not mind too much.

Fantastic stay for a girls trip

This was the perfect stay for a weekend girls trip. The home is in the Galena Territory, just a short 15-20 min drive to downtown. The views from the house are beautiful. Five bedrooms with their own bathrooms was perfect for our group. Great gathering spaces inside and outside the house to accommodate groups. Highly recommend staying here!

Family vacation in Galena

No negatives to this property for us. It has tons of space for a large family to be together and alone. Plenty of everything you need in the kitchen. Lots of towels and pillows. All furniture was comfortable. Tv's everywhere. Outdoor space was great-2 decks, a great firepit and a hot tub. The toddlers loved the grassy area-it was hilly but that was part of the fun! Lots of parking-we had 5 cars and no shuffling. The owner's club is fantastic and we all enjoyed just driving around the area looking at the homes. The owners were responsive to communication and immediately resolved the one small issue we had. Check in and out were easy. I had read on another review, there are lots of steps at the home, and it is true. It was doable for everyone in our group though.

Stay here!

Rarely will you find a house that has a bathroom for every bedroom. This house was perfect for our Marine parent's getaway. The fire pit sits in the front of the home, overlooking the beautiful Galena Territories. The house is very large and accommodated our group nicely. The kids had room to spread out, adults had privacy. The communal places were perfect. Lots of seating area inside and out. Hot tub & pool table, were a nice touch. Great place to relax

The house has a beautiful view and comfortable rooms. It was nice to have the two rooms and a pull-out sofa sleeper in the basement so the kids could have an area for themselves while the adults were upstairs. Owners answered questions promptly. There are a lot of stairs to get to the main level which wasn't an issue for us but it would be for anyone that has trouble with stairs. Overall, we really enjoyed our time there.

Perfect for large group

A beautiful property and home for a fun couples weekend. Each bedroom with it's own bathroom was perfect. Everything was clean and fully stocked. Highly recommended! Thank you for opening our home to us. We really enjoyed out getaway.

Couples get together Family Reunion

Great house for couples everyone had their own bed and bath. Big table for meals together. Fire pit was nice. Neighborhood quiet and secluded. Great change of scenery. Owners are responsive. Previous reviews minor things were all addressed. We will be returning!!

Beautiful but won’t be back

We have been coming to Galena and renting homes in the Territory several times per year for the last 28 years. This home is gorgeous however, check-in wasn’t until 4pm (we have never had a check-in later than 2p-3p) so your first day renting is all but over by the time you unpack when you have young kids. Check-out was 10am (we have never had a check-out before 11 or noon) and the homeowner came and parked at the bottom of the driveway at 9:35am which was not only bizarre, it was incredibly awkward. There were also odd signs all over the home with “ground rules” including which towels to use or not use. The hot tub cover was broken, the fridge smelled awful. We also had to replace several bathroom lightbulbs throughout the house and when you’re paying that much to stay it seems odd to have to replace lightbulbs. The entire experience was off-putting and we won’t be staying there again which is a shame because the home is absolutely gorgeous and in a gorgeous area.
