Great Place on the Outskirts

Communication with the property manager and the owner was great. Both were very friendly and quick to respond. They really went above to make sure we enjoyed our time here.The property is perfectly secluded. A short drive to anything we were getting into for the day. At the end of the day we would come back and relax in a very inviting setting.All around, a great place that for us was more relatable and more like a home away from home than one of the downtown locations and much better than a hotel room.I would definitely recommend this property to any friends and family looking.

Most things damaged or broke throughout

Property owner and managaer are aware of damaged and broken things, appliances and structure and not interested in replacing or fixing. It was just not very vacation-like and not appreciated being surrounded by so many broken or run down things. Not all vrbo homes are like this, if you stay here please don't let this one discourage you from staying at other homes.

Galveston Escape

Great stay for us in Galveston.! We stayed from Sunday to Saturday, as granddaughter was playing in a softball tournament. This house was exactly as featured, everything we needed was there for a very enjoyable and restful stay. Every little detail was thought of and every need was filled. The house was spotless and very comfortable. Loved the chase couch in living room! All 3 bedrooms were tastefully decorated and the beds were super comfortable. We cooked several meals while there and truly enjoyed it. The downstairs as well as the upper patios were furnished nicely and were very comfortable. We actually got to meet the owners, as we,not them, got our departure date confused. They were very gracious and understanding. We even left something at house after departing. They contacted us and met us at the softball field where we were playing ! So thoughtful! We own rental cabins in Broken Bow,Ok. I hope to be able to reflect their friendliness and thoughtfulness to our guests. We will be back! Highly recommend!

New Years in Galveston

This is a little late but still wanted to leave a review- we had the best time celebrating the New Year 2022 at this home. There was plenty of space to spread out and communication with the property manager was great. Would highly recommend staying here with a small or large group.

The house itself was great, location was spot on, only thing seems to be that Flavia kept passing by the house.We were outside on the patio and noticed that at least twice to the point where cars were going around because she stopped and stared both times coming and going directions. That was annoying.

Wonderful Place to Stay!

From the time we arrived on a very cold and windy evening, we found the home warm and welcoming. The owners are extremely thoughtful and have provided almost everything you need and more. The home is beautifully decorated and well taken care of. The kitchen is nicely stocked with plenty of appliances, dishes and tools. Towels, linens and extras such as soft blankets are included. We loved spending our time on the back deck, enjoying the beach breezes. The location is far enough away from the crowds and noise, but not so far that it takes long to travel to local stores and restaurants. To get to the beach, you cross the main highway, follow a small road and less than 4 min later, you're there! The beach is clean, not overcrowded and a great place to relax and enjoy the day. We will definitely be back!

Just what we needed

The property is just what you need when at the beach. It’s close to the main roads but far enough removed to be quiet. We didn’t spend too much time there other than to sleep and have breakfast but it was clean enough and comfy for our kids. It’s a great place for budget travelers.

Really Great Place!!!!

To start, my family had the BEST stay and enjoyed this place so much!! I am so glad I didn’t let some of the reviews sway our decision. I am just truly perplexed at some of the reviews I read after staying here. First off, if you are looking for an oceanfront, new construction rental, you need to look for that type of rental. This is not it & does not advertise as such. Leaving a review complaining about such things is a reflection of the renter not the property mgmt co. or owner. You should know your expectations and rent accordingly. Because this house is a fully furnished, comfortable, beautifully decorated beach house with lots of extras! If there was an issue with the stairs, that has been completely repaired as they were sturdy, well built, no issues with slanting, sloping or steepness. The house is located a few blocks from the beach. On a golf cart, it’s less than 5 minutes to the beach. When heading to the beach, you will cross a busy 4 lane road, but it is still easily maneuvered with quick access to the beach. The downstairs area was one of our favorite parts of the house! We came during the week of Thanksgiving & knew we may be up against cooler temps, rain, etc. It rained and was chilly several days out of our 6 day stay, but we still had a great time downstairs! The enclosed area was dry, comfortable, & a safe free-roaming area for our dog. We had so much fun! The pool table is not going to meet the hard-core pool players standards, but it is still very useable & great fun! We played games and listened to music. We found the couch super comfy and great for all of us to watch a movie. We cooked a full Thanksgiving dinner and had everything we needed to do so! I have nothing negative to say! We would love to stay here again!

The stairway was dangerously pieced together. Felt like the stairway was leaning away from the house. The top 7 or 8 stairs were sloped downward, which makes them dangerous to navigate. The top rail is very wobbly.

Not near beach, house needs some love!

Property is located across the highway from beach. Not really walk-able when hauling beach gear and coolers. We drove to beach. House was clean but needs some love. Downstairs is closed off and doesn’t look nearly as good as pictures. I understand it’s a beach house but there’s no excuse for floor trim not being nailed in, towel racks coming off walls, no blender carafe, dangerous stairs that were rickety for us 50 year olds, and silly “place settings” we weren’t allowed to use and a ginormous fancy vase and floral arrangement that we had to move because we couldn’t see across the table and 3 non-working lights in the lower patio area, and peeling paint around the entry door frame. Feel like we could have gotten better for a $1300 2-night stay. We had a blast in spite of these things but it was not what I anticipated from the pictures and description.

The house was very clean and very well decorated. The couch in the living room is very comfy. Many of us ended up falling asleep on it. I like the location of the house as well. The house is not far from the beach at all but is far enough that we didn’t constantly have to clean up sand.

Beautiful Home

Our stay was nice and relaxing. There was a few hiccups, but that is to be expected. The house is beautifully decorated and inviting. There’s is nothing the owners didn’t cover with accommodations. The only thing I’d change is having the beach closer.

Sunrise Service Stay at Galveston Escape

Galveston Escape (Property ID 7139877) was wonderful. Our parents and adult children had a fantastic time. The house easily accommodated 6 adults. The TV in the living room was fantastic. The kitchen had nice utensils, dishes and pots and pans. Rodney was quick to answer questions about how to work the fireplace and the showers. The shower conversion is in the bath faucet. We cooked together, played games and made memories. This place was perfect for our Easter tradition - Sunrise Service at Seaside Baptist Church on the beach. Thank you for making this an enjoyable and memorable stay. God Bless

Girls weekend

We enjoyed our stay at the house. We are not new to renting beach houses so expect some wears. The kitchen dining room and l living room are open and beautifully decorated. It is odd to not be able to use the place setting that is set out but ok i get it. We found the lower deck cushions in the garage. Communication was quick and kind. Nothing we saw impacted our stay negatively. That being said there were a few thing that did concern us. The stairs shifted and have only been patched. I would have liked to have seen that fixed not patched. If mom (who was with us) had been unsteady we would have required it fixed immediately. But the short few days we were there and all being steady adults who left the children at home we were able to avoid the parts that needed repair. When we reached out to let you know you offered to send over the pm and Yes we did decline them running over on friday night. Which was really nice of you. We noticed a broked ceiling fan globe in the back bedroom that could be dangerous if fell or bumped while getting dressed. The full size blender provided was NOT clean, as in cringeworthy. Normally we would just wash before using but decided to just put it back where we found it. We also ran out of toilet paper Sunday. Which sucks. As you said in the txt we were the last renters for the season. I would just ask that the house keeper make sure there were more than 4 small or half rolls of tp when 6 guest are staying for 3 days.

Needs some renovation.

The size was great and the porch was our favorite spot to sit. The rooms were nice size and the whole place was nicely decorated. For the price I would have expected it to be in a little better shape. The floors were very damaged, especially in the hall bathroom. The stairs leaned to one side. I have stayed in a beach house before and it did not have this much wear and tear. When I made my reservation it was listed as having a hot tub, and that amenity is the reason I rented this house. After the time for getting a refund expired I found out that the hot tub was not longer to be used by guests. I was stuck with this reservation and no hot tub. No one ever contacted me to tell me it was not longer to be used. Very frustrating.

Not as seen on TV

This property lo0ked very appealing online. And, in general it was appealing. However, there were several shortcomings. One of the major problems was maintenance. The railing on the front upper deck (off the two bedrooms) was so loose that we were afraid to use the deck and end up on the roof of the vehicles below. The railing at the top of the main stairway was also loose and unusable. The pool table that was advertised had one stick with no tip. Unusable. The house was advertised to hold six, but only had dishes for four. The door to the laundry came off when opened and we finally leaned it against the wall to avoid getting hit in the head. Each of the four TV's was on a different reception source and you needed an engineering degree to try and use three of them. (in fact we called the property manager to try and get the main TV working). We thought the hot tub was included (our bad) and upon discovering that it wasn't, called the property manager to find out what additional fees there would be. He said he would get back to us, we never heard from him. Finally, we had a plumbing issue with one of the toilets. After trying to plunge it with a plunger bought at the Dollartree, called the property manager. They said they would send someone out. Then proceeded to accuse us of flushing something down the toilet. We were told that we would be responsible for the plumbers bill. When I told them that nothing but human waste had been down there, I was told I had no way of knowing since I didn't follow everyone in there. As of yet, I have not been charged, but I will dispute if I am. The "don't care" attitude of the local management representatives overshadowed any positive attributes of this property. If I was the owner, I would look for a new management company.

Summer vacation/daughters birthday

The house is in a good location where we could access the beach and downtown Gtown. The owners were great and communication was on point. They were also super sweet and understanding when we Had some guests of our daughters stay longer than anticipated. Having had a cleaning business before, the house should Have been cleaner, especially with the dusting of the furniture and the couches should be moved and swept and mopped underneath periodically. Which from when we were sweeping up we could tell they had not. But all in all it was the most awesome vacation and I recommend this house! Thank you so much for allowing us to rent your beautiful home.

Great Location and Property

Very nice residence and location, several blocks to the beach and also close (but not too close) to downtown Galveston, WalMart, Moody Gardens, etc. Kitchen had just about everything you needed to prepare meals. The hot tub, although an added cost, was used everyday and would recommend just adding it to the nightly cost of the rental. The pool table was also a very nice amenity that added to the relaxation of our vacation. Bikes were a bonus but we did not end up using them although they were have been great to ride through the neighborhood across the street. Property Mgrs were great and we available multiple times throughout the trip. Would recommend this property.
