Overall this hotel was amazing, the views were breathtaking, it was extremely clean and had lots of facilities. The people that work there were always polite and apart from one instance extremely attentive. The only two negatives I would mention is, for such a big hotel there are only 3 check in/enquiry desks and generally just two staff on them meaning you often have to wait a good few minutes if you needed anything from them. The second was the restaurant. On the first night I had an absolutely lovely steak, I enjoyed it that much I decided to have a meal there the next night. This time I ordered the lamb shank. The issue was it didn’t come as described on the menu, it came with mash instead of rissole potatoes as specified. The lamb shank was embedded in the mash and I really don’t like mask. I waiting to see the waiter again but didn’t. I ended up just eating the lamb on top after waiting a good while. The waiter didn’t check on me at all even though I was literally the only person in the restaurant and I mean only person. By the time I did see him and call him over to get the bill it was a good 20 minutes later, meal hardly touched (see picture). At that point I wasn’t hungry anymore so didn’t raise it and he didn’t ask me how my meal was even though it was hardly toughed. The hotel is also in a lovely location with lots of amenities close

The staff are friendly and helpfull. A special commendation to Khoo Min Jie for his outstanding services, he checked us in, gave us information brochures and other information about places to dine, and notify us when the room was ready. Most of all he went out of his way to help us when we contacted him even though he was already on leave.He presented Ascott well with his service and made us enjoyed our stay.
