We had a Deluxe Studio. It was nice, well equipped and clean. Unfortunately there were a few flaws. No air - very stuffy. We tried opening the windows and that helped considerably but it also let in all the mosquitoes from the breeding pond on the roof outside our window. (A flat roof outside our window had a large water patch sitting there) We spent the rest of the night getting buzzed. The shower door also lacked the drip strupnat the bottom making the entire floor wet after a shower. I would guess the external facing rooms would be a much better option but....I'm not sure we wil take the chance on our next visit.

A great find in the centre of Gent. This is an unusual hotel in an old seminary building which has been stylishly converted inside. If you want something that mixes old and new, as well as being very convenient for the centre of Gent, this fits the bill. The studios vary in shape and size, are clean and well organised. The hotel itself was spotless and all staff were friendly and helpful. Check in and out were smooth and easy, one in person, the other a simple key drop. Having a local map built into a convenient key pouch was a nice touch. What follows is a caution and has not impacted my review of the hotel itself. My party had two rooms and unfortunately these also accommodated at least one mosquito in each, resulting in multiple bites. This must be a common issue, as the hotel food and drink vending machine included an anti-mosquito spray. Obviously this is a difficult thing for the hotel to deal with and is not their fault, but it is worth being aware of this possibility if you suffer reactions to insect bites.

Great hotel to stay if you are exploring Gent. We are a family of four with two younger kids and it was perfect. Walking distance to all the historic sites and great neighborhoods. Very safe area. The hotel was very clean and the staff was great. We loved it.

The shower leaks all over the floor in all 3 rooms we reserved No coffee maker. A toaster would be nice. Very dark. Brighter light bulbs would be nice! But excellent location, beds very comfortable and overall it was very good.

Terrible fecal smell from the shower. Unbearable. There are a lot of rooms, many of which must go unused causing problems with adequate water flow. Worth inquiring about this if you decide to book here. Otherwise the beds were adequate. It feels like a dorm. There’s a 25 euro fee if you don’t wash your dishes. I wish we would have stayed more central.

Beautiful apartment, with plenty of room for our family of four. The bathroom was huge, and the apartement very modern. There are a lack of hooks for bathroom towels, but other than that it was well equipped with basic cooking equipment, fans and extra bedding provided. Staff are friendly, the location was easy from the train station, and close to all the sites and landmarks in Ghent. We would love to stay again.

Construction work early in the morning!

Everything was nice, until it clearly wasn't. We stayed one night and had to wake up at 8AM because of noise right next to our appartment. There was a crane and it was construction work time in the inner courtyard. We waited a bit, hoped that it would be over soon, but it wouldn't. A lot of workers were in the courtyard, so it must have been planned beforehand. We had to wake up and get dressed and went to the reception to talk about it. They were sorry, apparently it wasn't them, but their neighbors. They offered to change our rooms, but we were about to check out at 11AM anyways. We just wanted a good night's sleep in a hotel, which was not meant to be. We filed an official complaint, but neither refund nor compensation was granted. We were not excepting a complete refund, but even a small compensation would mean that they cared about the comfort of their customers. They didn't. Overall it was a bad experience, but Getaway Studios took no responsibility for it, which made it even worse.

Nice hotel

This hotel is in a quiet area. It is close to tourist attractions. It is clean but there is no air conditioning. There are free lockers to store your luggage as you wait for check-in or after your check-out.

Love the interior of this property, the color pairing makes me feel aesthetic. The small kitchen unit is very useful to me and it comes with all the equipment I need to do simple cooking. The separated nook in the corner for working and eating is very nice. The bed and comforter are so comfy. Bathroom size is great and the shower is strong enough. I love the high ceiling, making the space feel more roomy. I do wish the lights are brighter but at least there is a big window. Great location to easily walk into the old town. An amazing vegan brunch place nearby called Madam Bakster.

I really enjoyed our three nights at Getaway. First, it was easy to get to from Gint Saint Peters and also from Gent Dampoort train stations. It was really quiet our whole stay and the kitchenette was helpful. The place is really close to downtown and we got a lot of walking in to all the sites in Ghent. There isn't AC but we didn't really notice there is a fan that we used and the room did not get any direct sun. lastly, the lockers were helpful because we arrived before our check in time and we didn't waste any time seeing Ghent. I would stay here again without question.
