The hotel is less than a five minute walk from the train station and about fifteen minutes from the bus station. It’s modern, clean and quiet. Breakfasts were good and filling, but a little monotonous.

The decor has a funky music themed style. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was adequate. Choice of cooked and continental. Could have had a choice of vegetarian sausages. My room was on the first floor and not very sound proof. Noise from the bar/cafe area music system woke me up. I mentioned it to the staff. I would stay here again, but would request a room on a higher floor.

It’s been over a year since our stay here and we still rave about it. Staff was so kind, management even called the airport and fought them on our behalf when they lost our luggage! Complimentary breakfast each morning was lovely and fresh, and rooms had fun decor and were very clean. The hotel is right in front of a bus transfer station and walking distance to George street and the train station. Each day my husband and I had a lovely hotel breakfast then ventured out into the city to explore. I had booked this hotel in a panic at the last minute and we were expecting the worst considering the price but honestly this would be my first pick during our next visit. Such a lovely experience for such a low price.

The room was quiet and comfortable but whoever designed the decor was a sadist. Hard to read fonts and red lettering and confusing "retro" logos everywhere. Music in the breakfast room far too loud for 7am and on member of staff at breakfast in particular super noisy, shouting and laughing... Not particularly restful.

Clean comfy room, could do with some drawers for undies socks etc. staff welcoming and friendly. Good location for where we were going to visit. Staff were struggling to keep breakfast items filled and tables cleared, coffee was not nice from the machines. On Sunday evening the bar had run out of some drinks we wanted to order.It was better on the Monday when the hotel was a bit quieter.

Room was clean and had everything you needed. Bed wasn't the most comfortable as the mattress was quite firm but that's maybe personal preference. Staff were very friendly and I was able to decline housekeeping which I wasn't aware was an option (could maybe inform guests of this rather than just the door hanger?) and was pleasantly surprised to find a note under the door to say because of doing so I could get a free drink downstairs which was very appreciated! Only a short walk along to Central Station and the city centre, there's a Tesco just five minutes away, and good location for the Hydro.
