Owls Nest Barn - sleeps 9 guests in 4 bedrooms

Forming part of a charming family farm in the picture-perfect Painswick Valley, this bright, airy and spacious barn is a wonderful place to get away from it all and breath in the fresh country air. With a spacious kitchen, elegant living room, and four large bedrooms, there is plenty of space to gather. The beautiful country kitchen is the perfect space for a hearty breakfast or indulgent dinner while the cosy living room with log burner is ideal for playing a board game around the fire on cooler nights.

With one super-king bedroom and three king-size, guests should experience a restful night’s sleep after a busy day exploring. The fourth bedroom also offers flexible sleeping arrangements, either configured as three single beds or as a king and one single.

Outside you can enjoy a covered terrace with sociable outside seating, perfect for evening drinks, and a fun ping pong table. The farm is also home to four picturesque coarse fishing lakes, so keen anglers should pack their fishing rods too. Children will love the freedom of the countryside and saying hello to the cows every morning or getting to explore the multitude of family attractions surrounding the area.

Ground Floor

Guests enter through the covered courtyard and there are steps up from the decking to the door.

Kitchen/Diner:
Stone floors and beautiful cabinets make for an elegant kitchen where guests can gather for breakfast at the large farmhouse table seating ten. Everything you need for a wonderful stay is provided from oven and hob, large American-style fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, dishwasher and washing machine to cafetiere and Nespresso coffee machine to make that all important morning coffee that you can enjoy while watching the cows outside.

Living Room:
Spend lovely evenings together in this cosy space with two plump sofas and wood-burning stove, perfect for cooler evenings. and a comfortable armchair provide plenty of seating, whilst in the corner is a wood-burning stove. Reconnect over a fun board game or watch your favourite series or movie together on the smart TV.

Bedroom Three:
This lovely bedroom boasts high vaulted ceilings and lots of natural light. There is an oak-framed super-king size bed and plenty of clothing storage with wardrobe and chest of drawers. Enjoy views of the lane beyond.

En Suite:
Adjoining bedroom three is a spacious and well-appointed en suite shower room with rainfall shower, WC, hand basin and de-mist mirror.

Bedroom Four:
Offering flexible sleeping arrangements, this spacious family room can be configured with three single beds or as a king-size and one single. Featuring high ceilings and a window overlooking the farmyard, this is a calm space to relax after a day of exploring. The bedroom also features a wardrobe and a chest of drawers.

En Suite:
The large en suite bathroom has a generously sized shower with a wonderful rainfall shower, WC and a de-mist mirror.

First Floor

Bedroom One:
With wonderful rural views over the cow fields to the village church and rolling hills beyond, this spacious king-size bedroom is decorated in a calming palette. An upholstered ottoman sits at the foot of the bed and there’s a half-height wardrobe with hanging space and shelves as well as a chest of drawers. Enjoy watching the birds flitting in and out of the hedgerow opposite.

En Suite:
The en suite to bedroom one boasts a large walk-in shower with rainfall shower head, WC, handbasin and de-mist mirror.

Bedroom Two:
The second bedroom on the first floor is a charming king-size room with views over the farmyard to the fields beyond. The large window is a lovely spot to watch the wagtails as they swoop and dive from the building opposite. There ais a wardrobe and chest of drawers for clothing storage.

Bathroom:
This family bathroom features a bath with a shower attachment overhead, WC, hand basin and mirror.


Outside

A unique covered courtyard with decking and relaxed outdoor furniture and pretty lights provides a fantastic space for guests to spend evenings enjoying a drink or BBQ. Children will love hosting tournaments on the ping pong table. Keen anglers will enjoy the easy access to the scenic Harescombe Fisheries, which form part of the farm and sit at the top of the valley. There is covered parking for 4 cars.

Beautiful home away from home

Wow, this house is amazing, beautifully renovated - every detail has been thoughtfully considered. The location is idyllic - set in the heart of the countryside. The hosts were very approachable, all our queries prior to arrival were answered very swiftly and were on hand throughout our stay - thank you David and Martyn, it’s safe to say we will be back.

Wonderful Stay

We had the best time at Owls Nest Barn. Pictures don't do justice, the barn is amazing, rooms are all so comfortable and have a hotel feel to it and you are in a farm surrounded by lovely cows. Hosts were super friendly, helpful. Special thanks to David, who was super responsive and also gave us a lovely tour of the farm. We would definitely come back. Thank you.

We met up here with old friends. We were very pleased with an en-suite for every couple. High quality facilities for kitchen, bathroom and comfortable living areas. Proprietors easily accessible and quick to help. They made us feel very welcome and even showed us their new calves. Beautiful surrounding countryside. One very small disadvantage is no garden. There is pleasant outside area with a barbecue but it has a roof .

Thanks for a lovely stay! Very comfortable accommodation and had lots of fun with the table tennis. Thanks for the delicious cake!(Would benefit from slightly more kitchen utensils and a better hob and oven. We managed, but found them hard to use, particularly the induction hob.)

A wonderful stay

Owl’s Nest was the perfect family getaway retreat. Stocked with everything you could possibly need, it was a fantastic break. The sounds of cows and swallows woke us up each day and there was space for all 9 of us to spread out. A great stay, we would love to be back.

Wonderful house, hosts & location

The owls nest barn is a lovely place to stay, all the rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable. It’s well appointed with everything you need. Being in a working farm makes it so much fun, seeing the cows come in and go out in the morning is a highlight. The hosts are very responsive and friendly. Martyn the farmer introduced us to the cows and calves, chickens and kittens!

Fantastic property, can’t fault anything, very well equipped with everything you would need. Delicious Lemon Drizzle cake on Arrival. Very comfortable lounge with large tv screen and underfloor heated downstairs. Good size bedrooms with comfy bed and modern en-suite for each bedroom. Spacious parking for at least 4 cars. Property adjoined the farm yard, farmers Martin and David very friendly and great to talk to approachable to answer any Questions. Good place to stay for families and couples.

Just perfect

Had a wonderful two night stay in this amazing 'home'. Warm, very clean, very comfortable and cannot think of anything I would change ....other than the length of our stay!!We booked for a family gathering for my son's wedding at Elmore Court which worked perfectly ( the groomsmen were able to join us at the house for dressing on the day). All of our needs were covered and communicating with David and Claire ( many congratulations to you both on the new baby girl) was excellent. I enjoyed the compliments from my family on my choice of accommodation. Perfect!! Thanks for all your hospitality ( and for quickly updating us to inform us of something we had left behind - we were able to return to collect).

Fantastic throughout

Brilliant stay here. The house has been completed to a very high standard and the comfort is second to none. All modern equipment and plenty of everything. Huge fridge which was great! Things for children as well, cots and high chairs etc. lovely, truly lovely.

Ideal property

The property is very comfortable, modern and spotless. The provision of an outside table tennis table was a bonus. The owners were very helpful, courteous and available though not interfering. The barn is on a working farm. The property is fully equipped with all you need. Would highly recommend this property.

A beautiful farm retreat

This is a beautifully designed and well appointed converted farm building, well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The rooms are spacious and light and tastefully furnished. The owners gave us a warm welcome and were easily contactable if we needed them. A delicious homemade lemon drizzle cake on arrival hit the spot. The surrounding countryside is really peaceful and it was lovely to observe the cows arriving for milking each day but many Cotswold attractions are within easy reach.

Everything looked brand new, beautiful big kitchen diner and flowing through to the spacious lounge area. 4 huge bedrooms with lovely comfy beds and bathrooms. Immaculately clean. David the host was so helpful and took time to show us around the farm. Useful outside area under cover with seating, and table tennis (and bbq but we did not use). A really wonderful place to stay.

Luxury country escape

The house is surrounded by green Cotswold hills, located on a small farm. Friendly owners who welcomed us on arrival. The house was so well equipped we had no need to bother the owners The house is newly furnished to a very high specification. Large kitchen with everything you need to cook up a feast. Generous sized bedrooms with comfortable beds and five bathrooms Also comes equipped with wood burner and EV charger if needed

Beautiful stay at Owls Nest

We stayed for a week at Owl's Nest Barn. The property was exactly as pictured online and had everything we needed. We chose it due to location and the fact it had two ground floor bedrooms, which was important for my father in law who has limited mobility and he had no problems staying here. Communication from the hosts was great and easy. They were very welcoming and lovely and provided a starter pack of milk, bread and a delicious lemon drizzle. The oven and stove were a bit trickly to figure out, but we managed most nights. The outdoor space was lovely. Had lots of fun playing table tennis. The surrounding property is beautiful and we enjoyed walks up to the ponds and to the church. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again.
