1. Late and Disorganized Check-in
We arrived exactly at the 3 PM check-in time. The key box by the garage was empty. We waited in the hot sun for 30 minutes trying to reach someone, but no one answered. Finally, at 3:30 PM, we found a cleaning person who gave us the keys. This is not an acceptable start for any guest.
2. Garage Remote not working
The remote for the garage door was not working. We spent 30 minutes trying to get it to open using the remote. It worked once, briefly, and then stopped again for the rest of our stay. We had to manually pull up and pull down the garage gate everytime, always unlocked. Our car was left unsafely in the open garage for four full days. Checking that the remote works should be a basic step before handing it to a guest.
3. Stove Stopped Working
The gas stove stopped working last night. We tried again this morning before checking out, and it still was not working. This was a major problem because we booked the apartment specifically to cook our own meals. Our parents have dietary needs and cannot eat at restaurants. Because of this broken appliance, we could not prepare the food we needed to carry with us for our trip home.
4. Utensils were Not Clean
The utensils/dishes were not properly cleaned before we arrived. The dishes and utensils still had old food on them. We had to spend our first day cleaning everything ourselves.
