Though I had a confirmed reservation through Hotels.com the General Manager canceled it in order to re-sell the room at a higher rate due to local events. Traveling with my elderly mother, I had no choice but to pay the hotel’s inflated rate, resulting in stress and financial loss.
When I tried to discuss the matter with the General Manager before checkout, he was extremely rude and dismissive toward both me and my mother. The front desk associate, Amy, was also hostile—she threatened to call the police when I said I’d leave an honest review and claimed it was “hotel policy” to cancel third-party reservations at their discretion.
The elevator was out of order from Friday night through Saturday morning, which caused me pain due to a physical limitation, and housekeeping never serviced our room during the entire stay.
