The “Cottage” is very dated, wires everywhere, uneven floor, cooker rings at an angle tipping the pan at 6 degrees. The insulation on the cottage is poor - in the evening it was like being in a sauna - they do provide a fan…. But you have to unplug the tv/wifi to have it in a position to make use of it. In the morning, it’s the opposite - FREEZING (as it’s at the bottom of a cliff, so doesn’t get the morning sun). Water heater in the kitchen looks like it was put in back in the 1940’s. Overall very disappointed in the room. Note: check-in is not at the location, no indication in the check-in instructions and no details outside on where to go - checkin is approx 400m away

The hotel was further than expected from the Intercity bus stop, but without luggage, it would be a nice walk. Check-in is at a different location, which when walking with luggage is a bit inconvenient. The beach view is blocked by a protective rock wall, but the shore Is easy to reach by climbing a few stairs.

Less than 1 km from Punakaiki rocks. We rented a 1 bedroom cabin, it was more like a beautiful little home. Well supplied kitchen, sofa in the living room, separate bed and bath area and a laundry sink. A wonderful porch with table and chairs and an outside grill and picnic table. We had a wonderful meal at the restaurant. I highly recommend Punakaiki Beachfront Motels cabins. I wish we could have stayed longer. Very large and welcoming living areas.

The villa was absolutely beautiful but the wifi let us down , if staying at beach villa ,you have no wifi and no tv as it’s run on wifi. We had to move out of the villa close to hotel to get wifi , a absolute let down

Very cute rustic cabin . Beach front but rockwall in front but 20 step walk up to see ocean. It was raging for our visit. Had 2 heaters so toasty warm. Shower interesting as never seen a box on the wall before and no taps. Figured it out. Large fridge. Cooking facilities and everything u needed to cook and clean up. TV interesting and one remote had flat battery. Extra blankets and pillows. Reception at pub down the road. Good place for dinner.

The quality of the shower was a challenge. The water temperature was erratic and the shower head was very loose. Stayed in early October and found the heating only just warm enough. Some family type games for rainy days would be welcome.
