Room was supposed to be a deluxe state but it was anything but. The room needed a redecoration, it was not of a standard that would be considered deluxe. A room at a premier inn would outdo this room . It was needing a good clean. The bathroom was dirty by the bath tap and the sink as well as the extractor fan. It also needs a refurb.
Mould showing around the tiles.it all looked drab and tired. Nothing deluxe about it- I feel we paid over the odds for this room.
The lift wasn’t working( we had received an email before arriving but we thought it would be possibly working by our arrival- it wasn’t and the whole time we stayed we didn’t see any work being done to get the lift working.
The stairs looked dirty as well as the carpeting both on the stairs and leading to the rooms as well as it was bubbling up ready to cause a trip hazard . The eating area was next to the reception- all open plan; it was chilly- no barriers to help make it feel like a private place to eat and relax. No idea why this wasn’t thought of at the planning stage. It would have cut down the noise and echo as well as the feel one was eating in a room and not a big reception area with all the comings and going’s of people arriving for rooms or the ins and outs of people from the conference area using the toilets. Very disappointing visit. We thought we had found a gem of a hotel to stay at while visiting family.
This was for a 2 night stay whilst visiting a family member in Grimsby hospital....the hotel was exactly what i needed and breakfast was good in the morning. Comfortable and clean and very pleased about the fan in the room as it was very hot
Ideal location, clean comfortable, if somewhat aged in appearance. This time the breakfast menu was limited due to the availability of certain items, but overall a pleasant stay.

Bath was very slippery no bath mat partner slip and fell hurting herself very bad and is needing to go to the hospital. Toilet was so loose moved everytime you sat on it
The hotel outside and in is very tired. The room was large with great views, but the bed was sunken and I could feel the springs. The bathroom floor was left dirty throughout, hairs and stains There is a shower curtain over the bath.
The lift was out of order and we were on the top floor. No notices were put up for some time.
Parking was plentiful and free.
Breakfast poor.
Service by junior staff generally good.
Not value for money.
I feel it is being left to go to ruin. Not maintained, old fashioned.
On arrival externally it is rather bleak but i found that the breakfast area and my room were sufficient for my needs, corridors etc somewhat dated and a lift that loves to open its doors several times when i would rather they shut. Staff were very nice and accommodating and the food decent. Although it seems a poached egg was out of the remit for one chef who murdered them twice. Offers to exchange were turned down as i don’t like waste but would prefer it done correctly first time. For working trip more than adequate.
