This was an awesome stay. The facilities around the property, gardens, tennis court and seating areas were fabulous. The room was well set up and clean. Location is great. Breakfast was a great bonus including mini pastries, pancakes, toast, cereal and filter coffee.

Not worth the money

Not worth the money. The room was advertised with a balcony, there was no balcony. The windows didn’t even open. Run down rooms! Nice garden and location. That’s about it

Magnificent 100 year old world charm with beautiful gardens, magnificent old trees , wonderful dining room with log fire and brilliant mountain views .. in the middle of the town and across the road from the thermal hot springs

I booked 3 nights here and on the first night there was rodent activity (rats I’m guessing) in the walls, the tv is built into the wall and could hear them behind the wardrobe area. I recorded the noises that went for hours until I started banging the walls. Great way to spend time in the room in the wee hours. I approached the lady behind the counter at reception the following morning and informed her about it, she said she will speak to the maintenance team. They offered me another room. I declined and said I will leave. I went and got a couple of hours sleep and reception called me come and see them at reception. The lady behind the counter informed me they will refund the two nights I was not going to stay but not the night I spent in the room of plagues! I said you are kidding right? She said no.

Hanmer Springs Hotel has a great central location and the most amazing grounds possible. the food was delicous. The staff were a little difficult to communicate with because of accents and communication issues.
