Lovely hotel with spacious room , balcony and a wonderful view.it was good to escape the crowded old quarter and it is not far away from the hotel. We booked a stay at the hotel 6 years ago for a honeymoon that we didn’t mange to make it due to a war conflict in our country and it was nice to finally come to the hotel snd vietnam

The staff were exceptionally helpful and we loved the sunset bar and restaurant. The room amenities had everything including a sewing kit which came in handy. I would definitely recommend it to friends and stay there again if in Hanoi.

An amazing service in an amazing location! We'd managed to accidentally double book, but the staff offered to refund one, even though they didn't have to! Breakfast was exceptional, massive choice and quality. We also dined in their Saigon restaurant, which is well worth a visit. Take mozzy spray, the lake does attract these unfortunately - the hotel does have plug-in repellents and flyscreens on the patio doors, but the odd one will still get in. The views and room are worth the risk, so don't let this put you off!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Intercontinental West Lake during our time in Hanoi. It was the perfect base for travelling with our toddler - after a busy day exploring the city it was nice to return to the peace and tranquility. The hotel was really accommodating and service was great. They even surprised my husband with a cake as an early birthday present which was a very thoughtful gesture.

Great Stay

The hotel is in a great location by the lake, and is only a short taxi from the old quarter. Service is excellent, and I would definitely stay again. The property is looking a little old however, and would benefit from a refurbishment.

Nice, but far from great....

The property was dated. The service staff was great as always, but the rooms need to be upgraded right away. The Wi-Fi needs to be 5G not 2.4. It's 2025, not 1995. If IHG Prides itself on quality, then read this review and spend the money to restore this property to what the traveling public comes to expect when staying at an IHG property.

The property was is a good location about 10-15 mins (depending on traffic) away from the Old Quarter where there is an immense amount of local shops and food vendors. It is still in the heart of Vietnamese history. The Lotte Mall is great and close by. Also they have an independent travel agency inside that has tours (private or group) that can fit you preferences. Room service always arrived quickly. Staff were extremely polite and friendly.
