Located on a working farm within rolling East Anglian countryside, it’s ideal for anyone looking to recharge in a tranquil environment. There’s so much to do within easy reach, from exploring the ancient churches which dot the area to discovering farm shops offering delicious local produce and country pubs where you can try a local ale. Walk or cycle through ancient woodlands and along old Roman roads and quiet country lanes, or head to the River Waveney for fishing and canoeing. Bungay is 5.5 miles away, gateway to the Broads and home to a fascinating ruined Medieval castle. Head to the coast at Southwold or Aldeburgh, 15 and 24 miles respectively, or take a day trip to the city of Norwich, only 21.5 miles.

Step into the hallway of this impressive property and you’ll immediately feel its wonderful atmosphere, thanks to dark woods, rugged beams and antique furnishings. Head through to the spacious lounge, where there’s ample seating, a Smart TV and a wood burner set into a brick fireplace – perfect for cosy nights in. The country-style kitchen includes an Aga, an electric oven and hob, and a microwave. This room also has a breakfast table where four people can enjoy a quick snack or a drink. The separate dining room, which accommodates nine people, is ideal for celebratory suppers together. The ground floor is completed by a utility room with a washing machine and a separate WC. When you’re ready for bed, you’ll find two staircases which lead up to the first floor, where there are two of the four bedrooms: the king-size with an en-suite shower room, and a family room with a double and single bed. There’s also a family bathroom with a gorgeous roll-top bath (with a shower over) on this level. The remaining two bedrooms, a double and a twin, are on the second floor (reached via cottage-style stairs), both of them beautiful rooms with sloping ceilings – meaning that taller people may need to mind their heads in places.

The huge grounds which wrap around the house are absolutely stunning, with mature trees and two large ponds. There’s a dedicated patio area with outdoor furniture and a gas BBQ, where you can enjoy fresh air and al fresco dining. There’s also a pool house with a private, indoor swimming pool (33’ x 20’, depth 3’ 6” to 7’ 6”), available from April to October. It has changing facilities and plenty of seating. Parking is on the private driveway, with room for three cars.
