Welcome to our vacation home at Hellnar.

The house is in the beautiful renowned location of Hellnar, the famous destination of nature lovers, painters, photographers and writers alike. You have the National Park, the glacier (Snæfellsjökull), the magnificent coast, mountain view and lava at your doorstep. You can stay there and simply enjoy the serenity, scenery and hiking trails, or/and use it as a base camp for various explorations in Snæfellsnes.

The accommodation offers 100 square meters on two floors in a bright, comfortable and well-equipped house. Quality bedding and furniture. No extra fees (bed linen and towels included in price). There is a self-check-in.

On the first floor is an open space kitchen, a dining area, a seating area and a bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped (with dish washer). The pantry has all the basics you need for your small or large meals. Fully tiled bathroom with a shower and heated floors. A washing machine/dryer combo at no extra cost (washing powder included as well).

There are 3 separate bedrooms on the upper floor and an informal TV/DVD corner in the hallway. For those looking for a writing retreat or a desk for hobby, a sturdy folding table can be used.

As we use the house for writing retreats there is an excellent internet connection: wireless internet and high speed fiber optic internet connection.

Please note that the staircase is steep.

All guests are expected to clean the house before they leave. Cleaning service is available for an extra fee (please contact owners for more information). As of January 2020 guests are NOT expected to wash linens and towels.

The hosts add enhanced cleaning measures between each visit, guaranteeing everything is perfect for your arrival.

Please note that camping and stay in campers are not allowed at Kjarvalströd.
