Stayed on April 12th in an ocean view room at Kaimana Beach Hotel. The room itself was beautiful, with breathtaking views of the ocean, park, and surrounding mountains. I originally booked a park view room but requested an upgrade to the main hotel, as the “annex” building did not feel safe due to people hanging around the entrance. The staff accommodated the change, but I did pay for the upgrade. Unfortunately, my experience took a serious turn. The air conditioner unit in the room leaked water onto the tile floor, and I slipped and fell hard on my side. My ankle became swollen and my hip was bruised. Because of this, I missed a planned hike with my sisters that day and had to cancel a Jurassic UTV excursion the following day. What was most disappointing was the response from management. The hotel manager did not seem concerned and largely brushed off the incident, which made an already bad situation worse. While the views and location are beautiful, this experience has made me reconsider staying here again.

Loved the location of this hotel - super peaceful and quiet spot removed from the crowded and bustling main area of Waikiki beach, but easily walkable there if you choose. Beautiful views of both the beach and Diamond Head. Was only there a short time so didn't use most of the amenities, but lots of nice offerings. Amazing value for a highly touristic area. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The room was fantastic, with an amazing view of the beach and cityscape. It was also very clean and beautifully decorated. The staff was super friendly and quick to respond with anything we needed. We were surprised to learn when we got there that there was a restaurant, cafe, and convenience store all on the grounds too! Dinner at the restaurant was delicious as well as the coffee and pastries at the cafe (which we visited every day). The overall experience there was absolutely wonderful.

Location on the Beach was beautiful. The hotel is in serious need of remodel. I feel the list of amenities was not correct. Our bed was smaller than a queen, the fan in bathroom didn't work. There is no gym, or bike rental on site. They only have one person at front desk doing 5 jobs, if you want towels for beach, or need help you have to wait while they are checking people in and answering phones. Our door to our room along with rooms by us won't shut. You have to slam them, because the door jams are off. Carpets through out old, table on linaii cracked, needs to be painted. Rust. The worst was the room had a wierd smell. The bar has 4 chairs to sit, all the other tables are empty with reserved signs for restaurant use only. The small lobby is open air, no place to sit outside, other than on the beach. Since no pool there is no outdoor space.

Clean though somewhat dated property. Beach access and the beach was not crowded. Had some issues with the property charging the same room balances more than once and placing large pending charges throughout our stay. The manager compensated us for the inconvenience of having this excessive depletion of credit card funds by giving us free parking though. Restaurant was half closed due to weather and supposedly “fully booked”, but there were empty tables for almost 2 hours because the guests “called they are running late”: haven’t heard of a restaurant keeping your reservation for more than 15 min but this is not the case for Kaimana … So, make a reservation well ahead of time and they will keep their other guests unaccommodated even if you are extremely late. The restaurant offers room delivery and take out too, which is helpful esp. when they are “fully booked” waiting for guests arriving late. Even if you take out they automatically charge you 18% gratuity… and expect you to add a tip on top too…

We stayed in the Parkview walk up building, as we have before. I always reserve the Parkview King Suite to suit the 3 of us. Room was clean and comfortable with daily excellent maid service. The restaurant has only pre made reservations, so we made one prior to our trip but could only get in late one night past our 6y old bedtime, so no restaurant for us. It was rainy our whole 9 day stay, so restaurant not open most of our days anyway. Breakfast was at least day old reheat food at menu price. Avoid breakfast there. So, no amenities other than in room fridge and microwave. But, we stay here for the location. San Souci is the best town beach. I recommend Kaimana for location, cleanliness and above average service.

The staff was absolutely amazing. Very helpful, very friendly, very tactful. They made the hotel. The location is removed from the hectic Waikiki beach. A little quieter, a nice beach, good location for Diamond Head. Gorgeous view. Past the lobby and dining area, the property is a bit run down. Halls need updated. Rooms were ok. Bathrooms though spacious could be remodeled. Nice to have a coffee shop and small boutique shops on property.

The staff was excellent, the building was always clean. There was a storm while we were there, in fact it was a historically bad storm. The building lost power, the generator came on but did not supply power to our room or any of the rooms in the park wing as far as i could tell. The Hou Tree restaurant and bar is mostly outside & what is inside is open air so they had to close it to walk in customers & move the hotel service up to a ballroom upstairs. That wasn't an issue, what was an issue was we paid for the breakfast package which entitled us to 2 entrées & 2 non alcoholic drinks every day but they closed the kitchen completely one day, and the rest they only served salads or limited menu items. I paid for 14 days of breakfast but only had access to 10 days. The air conditioner in our room kept going out but it would come back after several power off cycles. It was a battle to keep the room cool once we got power back. All told, it was a good hotel stay but it could've been better.

Location was great on the beach. Comfortable, updated, ocean view room but bathroom was tiny. Birds kept landing on our balcony. Part of the adventure! Beautiful area and chill away from hub bub of dt Waikiki but there are very few restaurants in the area. Never was able to get reservations for Hau Tree lanai restaurant so had to eat in the bar area. Interior of property needs updating. All that said, we would stay here again.
