The hotel itself is stunning, offering a perfect blend of luxury and Hawaiian charm that truly made us feel special. A special shoutout to Sully and Brandon at the Azure Bar — they absolutely made our stay memorable! Their warm hospitality, thoughtful service, and friendly personalities created a welcoming atmosphere that we genuinely appreciated. Not to mention, they served the best cocktails we've ever had, which was the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. Overall, the Royal Hawaiian exceeded our expectations, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended for families seeking a mix of comfort, beauty, and top-notch service!

I stayed at the Royal Hawaiian expecting a luxury experience aligned with Marriott’s standards, but what I encountered was shocking. The hotel is dirty, extremely dated, and poorly maintained. The room had broken furniture, a malfunctioning shower head, drawers that wouldn’t open, and an overall sense of neglect. The carpet was filthy, and to make matters worse, cockroaches made an appearance. There is no room service, which is baffling for a property that markets itself as a high-end resort. The entire operation felt badly managed, but staff were nice but they can't do much. Marriott should be ashamed to present this property as part of its luxury portfolio. This is not an “iconic” experience—it’s a misrepresentation that relies on history and branding to justify a high price for a subpar stay. I strongly urge travelers to look elsewhere.

We loved the Royal Hawaiian. It was a calm oasis in the middle of Waikiki once you were on the property. Love the banyan trees and rockers and historic atmosphere. Our bed was very soft and comfortable and our ocean front view was amazing. We rented beach chairs for the day and had an amazing time enjoying the beach. Would recommend!

Great location, but the property needs better facilities like Moana and the Sheraton. For example, lining up in the morning for 20 mins to order a non barista coffee at the bakery (which oddly closes midday?) is crazy.

Love the view where we stayed. Very clean and the staff were amazing. Just walking out from the hotel and going straight to the beach was amazing. I have nothing but to say good things about my stay. I will definitely recommend to everyone 😊

Treated like royalty!

Love the Royal Hawaiian- it’s like stepping back in time! Service is top notch and it had old Hawaii charm. Feels like Eloise at the plaza meets Hawaii .. great shopping and food too! Perfect beach location. Small pool but you can use the Sheraton pool if you want

I was not sure about the hotel at first because the picture on website looked very dated. I wanted a beachfront hotel. But, when we first walked into the hotel, the scent of plumeria is very impressive. We originally had two rooms, one ocean view and one regular. We arrived early and wanted to check into a room. We are a family of four with 2 adult children. Sora was so helpful. She gave us a family suite with partial ocean view with one king size bed and 2 double beds, so our family can stay together. Since it wasn't an ocean view like we originally booked, she had our resort fees waived. She spent the time and asked her manager who was also very accommodating. We didn't need the second room since this room accommodated all four of us. The manager was able to cancel my room without any penalty. Everyone was so friendly and willing to work with you. The room was so big and quiet, the beds were so comfortable. The bathroom is a bit small but it worked out. They even provided umbrellas. We had a fantastic stay. I will definitely stay here again and recommend it to everyone. Thank you Sora for all your patience and your help.
