Room was clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Good transportation options, although if coming in from Tuesday Island by ferry it would be easy to walk to the hotel assuming that you didn’t have a lot of bags. Pub and restaurant onsite for lunch and dinner, food was excellent.

Any island in norther Australia is going to be expensive as all equipment and consumables come by barge. This accommodation was still very good value for money. We had the warer view room with the wrap around balcony. It felt very private, yet close to the pool. The extensive continental breakfast was provided in the room and topped up daily. Yum. There is an air-conditioner as well as a fan. There was a really long desk in the room that could be used for work, eating or suitcases. A new extra large tv for entertainment. We really liked the restaurant meals - very large and filling with variety.

Security was very good and the staff were amazing and very friendly a easy walk to the Ferry to Thursday Island and the supermarket is just around the corner. The Transport to and from Airport the staff were very Friendly and extremely helpful They should have there own Tee shirt I think so

Tracing mum’s steps in the War

We were on trip to Horn and Thursday Islands to see where my wife’s mother served as an Army Nurse in WW2. Thanks to Vanessa at the Horn Is war museum and the friendly accommodation at the Wongai.
